Tomo Jam changes
New Features
Custom Song Help Button
If Tomo Jam detects that no custom MIDIs are present, you will now see:
“No custom songs found, click here to learn how to add them”
Selecting this will guide players toward the steps needed to import custom songs. This is part of an ongoing effort to make UGC features easier to discover and use.
New Scoring Layer – Perfection Bonus
A new Perfection scoring layer has been added to expand the skill ceiling and provide deeper performance tracking.
When you hit a note perfectly, Tomo Jam now also tracks how perfectly the note was hit.
This system introduces:
Score Tie-Breaking
Identical scores can now be differentiated by precision
Applies to all runs, not just AP or FC clears
AP runs now have additional performance depth and differentiation
Higher Skill Ceiling
Adds a new mastery layer for players optimizing timing accuracy
Allows players to improve performance even after clearing or perfecting songs
Perfection Bonus allows players to break through the previous 9,999,999 score cap with especially precise performances
Existing Scores Remain Valid
Current leaderboard scores are not affected or removed
Previous scores remain intact
Replaying songs will record Perfection data and allow players to push scores further
Optional Perfection Display
New toggle added:
Show Perfection Score in Gameplay
Displays precision ratings for each perfect note hit during gameplay
Even when disabled, overall Perfection results appear in post-song breakdowns
New Loading Screen Tips
Loading screens now display rotating gameplay tips and feature highlights to help players discover useful settings and quality-of-life options.
New Dynamic Crowd Audio
Tomo Jam performances now feature new crowd sound effects that react to your performance. These sounds subtly build alongside your momentum and musical flow, adding an extra layer of live-performance energy as you play.
Changes & Improvements
Instrument Difficulty Rating Improvements
Instrument difficulty now uses Heat instead of stars
Ratings now use a 10-point scale instead of 5, allowing finer difficulty granularity
Leaderboard UI Improvements
Leaderboards now appear as a dedicated panel when selecting a song
Scores are easier to browse without needing to open a separate leaderboard view
Ever-Evolving
This update continues Tomo Jam’s focus on accessibility, performance feedback, and long-term competitive depth. Many of these systems lay groundwork for future features and expanded gameplay experiences. There is so much more I am planning on adding to the game, and I sincerely hope you're enjoying the journey so far. I know I am!
As always, thank you for playing and helping shape Tomo Jam. Keep on Jammin!
