With spring arriving in the Northern Hemisphere, it feels like now is the right time for us to clear the pots, refresh the soil, and begin planting again. This makes it a perfect time for City Garden Harvest to once again open its doors to you, this time with an all-new, hugely improved, public playtest.
This latest version is a complete overhaul of City Garden Harvest, from the core game systems to the UI, art, and even in-game progress. Don’t worry, we’ve got all of the details for you here!
General Information
We’re inviting players to test the newest version of City Garden Harvest and share feedback to help us refine the experience.
Important Information
Compared to the earlier demo that you might have played, this is a fully redesigned version, essentially City Garden Harvest 2.0. The game is an all-new experience.

Playtest FAQs
Will my in-game progress be saved?
No. Each major update during the playtest requires a restart, and progress from this playtest will not carry forward.
What languages are supported?
The playtest is available in English only.
What platform does the playtest run on?
PC (Windows) via Steam.
Will the game run on Steam Deck?
No, the Steam Deck is not officially supported at this time. We've not added any features to the game that would allow it to run on the Steam Deck.
What should I do if I encounter a bug?
If you encounter a bug, have an issue with the game, or want to give feedback, then we have two options for you:
Best (for bugs/issues/feedback) Submit a screenshot and description via our Discord.
Alternative (for bugs only): Report the issue via this Google Form: https://forms.gle/QN4MMcV1rLfNwKXN7 Clear descriptions and screenshots help us fix issues much faster.
What's different from the previous demo?
This playtest is essentially Version 2.0 of City Garden Harvest. It includes:

Watering Rework
No more holding a button
Players now "paint" the soil surface when they water the plants.
New visual indicator system for optimal watering levels
Soil System Overhaul
Pre-made soil mixes removed from the shop
Players now create their own soil blends directly in the pot

Added timing-based mini-game
Players must land within the correct range

Weeding
Weeds can now grow in pots
Use a garden fork to remove them
Harvesting Changes
Harvesting is now fully manual
Equip pruning shears
Collect crops directly from the world
No automatic UI pop-ups
Order System Rework
Orders are no longer completed via computer.
The players must physically locate clients in the building and deliver items in person.
Tablet Device
Desktop functionality moved to a portable tablet
The tablet is accessible at any time during gameplay
Books, Notes, and Lore
Collectible notes and books added
These contain lore, character information, and gameplay tips
Crafting Expansion
Most items are now crafted directly inside the apartment
Crafting requires blueprints and components
Game Time
Faster daytime cycle
A full in-game year now lasts 24 days
Lighting System Update
Lighting bonuses are directly tied to tables, shelves, and surfaces
No more guessing light levels
Experience, Reputation, and Faction Shops
Earn experience and reputation, which is used to unlock new opportunities
Faction-based stores have been added as well.
Operations Panel (UI)
Added a new overview panel that displays key garden and system information.
This is accessible from anywhere
