Hey everyone!

There’s quite a bit to talk about, but firstly I’d like to give an official welcome to MissMagnificentDesolation who is joining the team on a part-time basis. Starting a little later than planned because of busy schedules and working in different time zones, but things are going well! We’re still figuring things out, but I’m happy to have her on board for the extra help. One of the first things I asked her to do was mock-up a little preview of her favourite Time For You character, Serah. Using the rough mockup and her notes, I modeled the image you can see. Mockups and notes help a lot with modeling, and it’s what I do for every scene in the game. It’s going to take a little while to transition things to her, but overall, things have been going pretty smoothly and she’s focusing on post-work right now. We’re working our way through all the postwork for the Chapter 01 Refresh along with the first part of Chapter 04 and it’s looking really nice. You can see some of the new images below :3

Before we get into it, the Chapter 01 refresh is being released in full rather than 2 parts. There’s a lot more renders/animations and lewd content being added, and it’s more of an immersive experience being released in full rather than with the original and new content side-by-side (original content can still be viewed as an option while replaying scenes on your in-game phone). A bit of the starting of Chapter 02 is also going to be updated to match Chapter 01, but the Chapter 02 refresh would happen after Chapter 04 is done. Chapter 04 is being worked on right now as well, and will be coming out some time after the Chapter 01 refresh. I’ll be giving release dates closer to when they’re done. More info on this and what’s in the works below.

Steam Achievements

One thing that I’ve been asked quite a bit about is if Steam Achievements are being added to the game. Yes, they are going to be added, but it will be after Chapter 04 is complete. There’s some work that needs to be done as saves could be affected with the change. That being the case, it’s not the focus right now, but I am coding in the flags for the achievements, so that they’ll be ready for when Steam achievements are available in the game.

More Wallpapers

I’ve also been asked if more wallpaper packs are going to be added by quite a few people and they will! I’m currently working on one for Mandy, and then probably Serah, and Akane after that. Leave a comment if there’s someone in particular you want (side characters like Jessie, Jenny, Luna, etc. as well if there’s interest). I’ll also be creating a complete-the-set for wallpapers in the future.

Chapter 01 - Refresh

One big thing I’m working on is updates to Chapter 01. As I was editing and testing the entirety of Chapter 03, I was also doing regression testing and replaying Chapters 01 and 02 multiple times. In doing so, I kept noting down ways I felt the game could improve and build upon itself while maintaining its spirit. One of the most common notes I get about Chapter 01 is that there isn’t as many renders and lewd content for a game like this. Chapter 02 does build on this, but Chapter 03 is where the renders, animations, and lewd content really hits its stride. Eventually, I want Chapters 01 and 02 to match Chapter 03 in that regard.

There have been many more renders, animations, hidden items, and additional features added to Chapter 01, and so far it’s looking really cool. There are also a lot of new lewd events added to Chapter 01, and the lewd events that have been refreshed will give you an option to view the original versions while replaying them on your phone.

Extra Images and Wallpapers

Like Chapter 03, there’s going to be a lot more extra images that you will be able to find in Chapter 01 after the refresh. You’ll also be able to find some wallpapers. For example, there will be a largely visible code you’ll be able to see during Detective Mode, and the game will explain that you should input that in your phone for a reward.

Time Fragments

Along with adding more content to the current Time Fragment in Chapter 01, there will be 2 more Time Fragments added.

Clues

A few clues will be added to the game to help with the bonus tasks in Chapter 01. For example, during the Office Cleanup, if you missed something to find, Vanessa will casually point you in the right direction.

More Item Visibility for Detective Mode

A bit more item visibility in Detective Mode has been added to Chapter 01. For example, you can now see the sponge you’re looking for in the sink during scene 04. You should still search drawers and whatnot for bonus content though!

Hero Vision

A new feature being added to the game is something I like to call “Hero Vision”. At times in your gameplay you’ll see an icon, and by clicking on it, you will get to see what a character is wearing in “Another Time, Another Place…”. It’s a pretty simple, but fun way to add more lewd content to Chapter 01. This will later be added to Chapter 02, 03, and onwards. There will be a short but funny explanation in the game about it, which will be further built upon in Chapter 04 ;)

End of Chapter Check

Like in Chapter 03, you will soon be able to find out if you missed any hidden items at the end of Chapter 01. It’ll be extra useful, especially with all the additional hidden items being added. As always, some items are only available for a limited amount of time during a Chapter, but you will be able to obtain them in the future.

What’s next for the Chapter 01 Refresh?

A lot of the rendering is done for the images, and it’s mainly the animations, coding, and writing that’s left. In typical ZeroHero fashion, I’ve added more than I initially planned for, but it’s looking really good. You can see one of Selena's lewd scenes in the image below. Once the animations and post-work are done, it’s going to hopefully be smooth sailing from there.

Chapter 04

The first preview of Chapter 04! It’s difficult to post a preview and not be spoilery, especially with how things ended with Chapter 03. The focus of Chapter 04 is Vanessa, but of course, like the rest of the Chapters, the rest of the main cast will of course be involved.

I don’t want anyone to think that the refresh is side-lining Chapter 04. We’re still generally following the same plan. I’ve been coding and writing for Chapter 04, and I’m happy with the way things are going. While writing, it feels like I’m in flow and the words are just flooding out of me. It’s a great feeling and I’m excited for you all to see how it turns out.

Vanessa Lust Redemption - Chapter 04

Chapter 04 will be experienced differently if you don’t have the right amount of lust with Vanessa, but of course, if you’re not pursuing her, that shouldn’t be too big of an issue. There will be one last lust redemption for Vanessa near the start of the Chapter, and during Chapter 04, your path will be locked for Vanessa - the game will either assume you are pursuing her or simply stop asking if you want to pursue her.

Akane

Unfortunately, my Akane model hasn’t been working properly with my 3D modeling software update since late October. Luckily, I didn’t update on my older computer, so I’ve been able to model and render there, but it’s significantly slower than my main computer. I’ve spent so many hours trying to figure out the issue to no avail, and support for the 3D modeling software has unfortunately not been able to help either. Luckily, with a recent update to the software, Akane’s base mold works again, so after many hours, I recreated her (I have no idea why the new model works, while the older one doesn’t as they’re basically the same - very frustrating). I also figured out how to fix an issue with one of her irises that I’ve been fixing in post, so that’s at least a bonus. Take a look below for the previous version, and her current version. I’m still adjusting small things here and there, but I’d say for the most part she’s basically the same as before.

Chapter 04 Time Fragment Comment Poll

The comment poll for the focus character of one of the Time Fragments for Chapter 04 will be available mid-April. Leave a comment about which character you want to win on that post!

What’s next?

I’ll be heavily focusing on animations for the next little while.
