addedSince launch we have received a lot of helpful feedback from players. One point that came up multiple times was that the beginning of a new run can sometimes feel a bit repetitive . While the early progression is important, many of you wanted to reach the deeper layers faster, where the more valuable ores and interesting discoveries begin.
addedWith this update, we are introducing a new mechanic to improve exactly that.

Since launch we have received a lot of helpful feedback from players. One point that came up multiple times was that the beginning of a new run can sometimes feel a bit repetitive. While the early progression is important, many of you wanted to reach the deeper layers faster, where the more valuable ores and interesting discoveries begin.

With this update, we are introducing a new mechanic to improve exactly that.

The Ancient Elevator

The Ancient Elevator allows you to quickly travel through the first several hundred meters of underground. Instead of repeating the same early digging every run, you can descend much faster and jump straight into the action.

The elevator can also be expanded by mining Adamant ore, allowing it to reach deeper and deeper levels over time. This progress is also permanent, you will benefit in all following runs from it.

This creates a new long term progression system that rewards exploration and makes each future run start closer to the more rewarding depths.

This is the first iteration of the Ancient Elevator, and we want to refine and improve the mechanic based on your experience.

New Content:

  • New building (Ancient Elevator): The Ancient Elevator is used to speed up the first several hundred meters each run.

  • New unlock (Ancient Elevator Building):The Ancient Elevator is not unlocked at the start but becomes available after night 2. It can be used in the next run.

  • New ore (Adamant Ore): Used to upgrade the Ancient Elevator. Each mined ore increases the elevator’s structure to reach deeper into the mine.

  • New mechanic (Ancient Elevator Upgrades): Elevator upgrades persist across runs, so collecting Adamant Ore will permanently improve future runs.

  • New survival guide entry: Ancient Elevator

  • New UI (Fullscreen Notification): A larger notification for important events such as Ancient Elevator upgrades. This system may later replace smaller discovery messages.

Improvements & Bug Fixes:

  • UI: Minecart target selection is now easier with mouse and controller.

  • BugfixNew unlocked building labels are now correctly translated.
  • BalanceBase climb speed increased from 55 -> 75

Other Changes:

  • Survival guide entryUpdated beginner tips to recommend focusing on one single mineshaft instead of multiple.
