Repeated intro
Hello again. This month's work consisted on continuing with the town itself, new girls, new custom buildings, and some enhancements for the "romantic" scenes.
What changed
- Gameplay
- Store
- UI and audio
Theanthria changes
The town is shaping up nicely. The work still consists on selecting areas, adding props, optimizing, fixing buildings' positions if necesary, all with immersion, composition, and navigation in mind.
Added some cool vines I made in blender ^_^
New buildings!
I was in dire need of some cute corner-cafés and tea shops, so, emboldened by my rudimetary architechtural skills, I worked on some pinterest-inspired designs.
I flattened the roofs so the player has different levels of movement. I'm still working on adding scaffoldings and other transition structures to get up and down the roofs faster.
New girls added!
I still need quite a few girls to populate the town in a way that feels believable. So I'm always working on characters. Here's the newest ones:
Jocelyne!
Lin!
Brooke!
Hasmik!
Harper!
Mara!
Viridiane!
Celeste!
Rhiannon!
And Kani!
A little bit of world building just for fun.
If you've noticed a patterns in their names, I gave each type of animal specific naming rules. These rules are meant to emphasize within-world cultural traits, and to add some cohesion among them. Also I just think is cool.
Here's some examples of these rules:
Cats have 2-3 syllable French names (Sylvaine, Viridiane, Jocelyne...). The idea is that, in their culture, they prefer elegant and slightly mysterious sounding names for themselves.
I liked Nordic names for wolves a lot, wolves having a strong imposing culture, and mostly coming from colder climates. So you will find wolf girls with names like Sigrid, Hallfrid, Hrefna, Ragna, Estrith, etc.
Dogs have English short names that emphasize R sound. Usually 1 or 2 syllables, and especially names with sounds like "ar" "roh" "roo", which reminds me of sounds dogs make. Some names: Harper, Riley, Rory, Bree, Brooke, Erin, Mara, Parker, Ronny.
Mice get short, slightly percussive sounding names, maximum of 2 syllables, emphasizing the vowel "i" because it sounds squeaky, for lack of a better word... I figure they would be more drawn to those names. Mice names don't come from a specific language, but I prefer short Swahili names (Pili, Kani, Zuri), tho I have a mice girl named Lumi (snow in Finnish), and the most recent one: Lin, which is mainly a Chinese name.
Reptiles have mostly Armenian names. My reasoning is that some of those names have very hissy throaty sounds, which remind me of a lizard or a snake's hiss. I like names that you can pronounce almost without using your lips, since reptiles don't have them, so it comes more naturally to them. Some examples of the names I chose: Anahit, Arevik, Hasmik, Tatevik, Astghik, Siranush, Almast, Zmrukht, Ashkhen, Yeraskh, Lasia.
Also none of these are hard rules, more like a general guide. After all, there's always individuality within any culture, counter-culture, nicknames, etc.
About those "Enhancements" to the sex scenes...
I made a proximity-based blendshape trigger script for the naughty scenes. Is very simple but very cool. Basically the closer the "penetrative object" is to a specific body part, the more that body part will react using a selected blendshape or collection of blenshapes. So is very useful for anything that requires deformation... For example:
Stretching
Belly bulge!
Mouth opening/deepthroat face expression
Thigh-job :3
I'm very happy with how it turned out. Now is a matter of incorporating it the animation sequences. I must admit I spent a lot of time trying to figure out a good way to use Unity's timeline, but turned out it was not very useful for my purposes, and I didn't end up using it. So that time was pretty much wasted... But it's ok, I have more control with script-based animation sequences anyway. That's what I'll be working on next. And continuing polishing the town.
That should be all for this month's entry... I decided to not wait until the whole town is 100% complete to release a build, because that would take much longer than I'd like. May not be my favorite thing to do, but I can have some streets closed for the player, kinda doing the "under construction" thingy I've seen other devs do. Which I'm already doing anyway. So i'll work on the central and southern parts, and hopefully I can complete at least that within the next couple months.
Well regardless, thanks for your support, your attention, and your comments. I chipped my tooth today chewing on a pencil, and now I feel like an idiot. I hope you your day is going better than mine.
Take care until next update🫂
