When I started working on Lobo’s settings menu, I thought a lot about simplicity. I didn’t want to overwhelm players with endless technical options. Most of the time, the best value is already the default one. If you’re wondering why there’s no ray tracing or fancy upscaler settings, it’s because Lobo was built to run on almost any computer.
I actually took a lot of inspiration from The Last of Us Part II. I really liked how that game approached functionality and layout. From there, I added my own design touch and shaped it to fit Lobo’s world and style. The result feels like something that belongs in this universe while still following good design principles.
For me, the essentials are always the same: resolution and display mode, volume sliders for music and sound, key rebinding, camera sensitivity and invert options, language selection, and gameplay toggles like disabling tutorials or gore.
As a player, what are the settings that matter the most to you?
