Today, we’re answering some of the most frequently asked questions about the game.— Why does the story take place before 1914, but the capital is called Petrograd instead of Saint Petersburg? — The game is set in an alternate universe, so names may differ from real-world events. Don’t expect strict historical accuracy in a game inspired by a science fiction novel.

We haven’t been active on our Steam page… until now. From now on, we plan to share development updates for The War of the Worlds: Siberia once a week. Today, we’re answering some of the most frequently asked questions about the game.

Why does the story take place before 1914, but the capital is called Petrograd instead of Saint Petersburg? — The game is set in an alternate universe, so names may differ from real-world events. Don’t expect strict historical accuracy in a game inspired by a science fiction novel.

Will there be DLCs, paid or free? — We’ll share more information about this later.

Will there be character customization? — Changing the character’s appearance isn’t planned, but their look may change as part of the story.

Which platforms will be available?

— PC, and hopefully consoles. We’re designing the game with console controls in mind.

Will the game feature interconnected locations of different sizes, or will you be unable to return once you leave an area? — You’ll only be able to return to a previously visited location by loading a save from that chapter.

Will there be hunting for resources? — No, the main character is not a hunter.

What about side quests? — There will be tasks that don’t advance the main story but provide challenges for players and help immerse them in the game world.

What age rating are you aiming for? — Our preliminary estimate is 18+.

Will there be a photo mode? — Yes, we plan to implement one.

Will the game have replayability? — We’re designing most areas with replayability in mind. Different difficulty settings will also allow players to approach challenges in various ways.

Will there be branching paths to a given location? — We’ll include such paths where it makes sense for the story and ensures an engaging adventure for the player.
