Development Update March 2022

Hi puzzlers, now that The Unbeatable Path is about halfway finished, we took the time this month to test the entire project and fix the bugs we found.

addednow that The Unbeatable Path is about halfway finished, we took the time this month to test the entire project and fix the bugs we found. This took some time, but still didn't stop us from partially implementing the new map "Staring Woods" and creating the corresponding assets for this level.
changedProject ProgressPlaytest: This month we took a lot of time to test the content so far. In addition to gameplay tests, our QA also performed collision tests and sound tests, just to name a few. A collision test, for example, checks whether the character is blocked by certain objects. A sound test, for example, checks whether the sound slider for effects in the menu also affects the corresponding sound effects (for example, a fire) in the game.
fixedProject ProgressBugfixes: Based on the bug list of the playtest, all bugs found by our QA were fixed. At the same time, the code was further optimized to prevent future bugs as much as possible.
changedProject ProgressNew map "Staring Woods": We have also started to implement the next map "Staring Woods". The player will now advance further into hell with this map, which will now reflect the hellish environment more clearly. The level design including the puzzle gameplay is 50% complete at this point. Since this is a somewhat larger outdoor map that includes 4 separate puzzles, we are probably still busy with the completion of the entire month of April.
addedProject Progress3D Modelling & Animation: For the new level, of course, many new 3D objects are needed. Since the world is now turning more and more into a real hell, we are currently in the process of creating and animating many organic-looking assets. You can find a foretaste of this below.
