changedFirst of all, I'd like to apologize. My plan was to release an update a few weeks ago featuring feedback I had gathered over this period, but a mountain of paperwork and the need to disconnect for a while ended up forcing me to postpone it. Fortunately, everything is back on track now, so I hope to have news regarding that very soon.
addedNow, moving on to the main reason for this post, I'd like to share how I plan to handle the new languages that will be added to The State of Nowhere after giving the matter a lot of thought.
changedSince I can't afford professional translations and, at the same time, I want the game to be available in more languages, I've decided to use an AI-assisted translation system supported by detailed context for each line.
changedThis will take some time, as I need to write contextual information for every translatable line in the game and also develop several scripts to make the translations as accurate as possible. I am aware that this method has its limitations, which is why I will also provide a public GitHub repository where interested players will be able to suggest corrections and improvements.
changedWith that explained, here's the language roadmap I've planned. It will consist of five updates, organized according to the technical complexity involved in implementing each language group.
changedUpdate 5Based on my estimates of the work involved, I hope to release the first language update by the end of July, if everything goes according to plan.

👋 Hello dear Nowherians and lovers of bureaucracy! How are you all doing? I hope you're doing great.

First of all, I'd like to apologize. My plan was to release an update a few weeks ago featuring feedback I had gathered over this period, but a mountain of paperwork and the need to disconnect for a while ended up forcing me to postpone it. Fortunately, everything is back on track now, so I hope to have news regarding that very soon.

Now, moving on to the main reason for this post, I'd like to share how I plan to handle the new languages that will be added to The State of Nowhere after giving the matter a lot of thought.

Since I can't afford professional translations and, at the same time, I want the game to be available in more languages, I've decided to use an AI-assisted translation system supported by detailed context for each line.

This will take some time, as I need to write contextual information for every translatable line in the game and also develop several scripts to make the translations as accurate as possible. I am aware that this method has its limitations, which is why I will also provide a public GitHub repository where interested players will be able to suggest corrections and improvements.

With that explained, here's the language roadmap I've planned. It will consist of five updates, organized according to the technical complexity involved in implementing each language group.

Update 1

  • Portuguese

  • French

  • German

  • Italian

  • Polish

  • Turkish

  • Romanian

Update 2

  • Russian

  • Ukrainian

Update 3

  • Korean

Update 4

  • Japanese

Update 5

  • Simplified Chinese

Based on my estimates of the work involved, I hope to release the first language update by the end of July, if everything goes according to plan.

As a final note, once this roadmap has been completed, I will evaluate the possibility of adding more languages in future updates. Just because a language is not listed here does not mean it won't be considered in the future.

With that said, this little developer living in a remote cave somewhere in the world sends you all a very warm greeting.

🤗
