We've made some more quality of life changes and fixed some bugs based on community reports in our latest patch!

Here are all of the quality of life changes we've made that are related to the player character (Takeshi):

  • The player now drinks potions faster.

  • You no longer pass through enemies during the fight, which makes the combat more satisfying.

  • Jumping is smoother and the distance has been increased.

  • The player moves 15% further during hits, making combat easier.

  • The player can now successfully pick up items from cover or with the bow without having to press the button again.

  • More fluid player movement.

  • The player now grabs items faster.

  • The dodging distance has been adjusted.

  • Pressing the up direction while carrying the bow or energy ball makes the player turn, making it easier to move using the keyboard.

Here are some of the more general quality of life changes and optimisation improvements we've made:

  • Performance on Steam Deck and performance in general has been improved.

  • Enemies now cannot attack while the player is performing a finishing move.

  • Large foreground objects that obscure vision now become transparent during combat.

  • Enemy damage has been better balanced.

  • General optimization, increasing performance in the most loaded areas.

  • The boss Sojobo now has new sound effects, improved camera vibration, and improved AI behaviour.

  • In the Forest 3, we've added indicators where you need to jump or drop down to navigate through the level.

  • In the Cave level where you play as the Kodama, we've improved the enemy AI.

  • Plants give more energy to the Kodama in the Cave level.

  • The doors where the eggs are found now close when you have completed the area in the Cave level.

  • We've added save points to the Cave level so the game saves every time you clear an area of eggs.

  • The eggs spit out a limited number of spiders in the Cave level. Once the limit is reached, no more spiders will be created until some of them have been killed.

  • Visibility has been improved and increased throughout the Cave level.

  • Save points turn off correctly 20 seconds after use.

  • Added deaths to all traps.

  • Player tires less easily during the Village Day and Oniric Dream levels.

  • General enemy balancing

  • Enemies stop chasing you if you change floors.

  • Adjustments to general enemy Ai.

  • You can now pause the game during cut-scenes as well.

  • Increased visibility in the Well level.

  • Fixed the issue with damage to the final Boss.

  • Better balanced bosses.

  • Altars did not consume incense upon entering them.

  • Over 300 minor bugs fixed.

And, last but not least, here are all of the bugs we've fixed that were reported by our amazing community members:

  • Fixed the blocker caused by the lever and the door in Dungeon 2.

  • Fixed text during training (Spin by hitting quickly while in cover)

  • Fixed the issue where the Kodama can't throw the energy ball during the tutorial to break the wall, causing the game to crash.

  • Fixed the bug that occurs during a very close defeat against Shuten-Doji -- which brings you back to the checkpoint before that final fight.

  • Fixed the bug that caused Takeshi to reappear in the same hallway after the cinematic where Gashadokuro is defeated, but where the pillar is still present and prevents the player from progressing.
