Since the first playtests, we’ve combed through every inch of the station to improve everything we could: visuals, interface, content, consistency, and overall game feel… In short, The RIFT has evolved a lot in preparation for this Next Fest. Here’s a look at what we’ve already revamped in-depth thanks to you:
Visual and behavioral improvements to all gameplay elements
A fully reworked main menu background: now set in a spaceship hangar
A total visual overhaul of maps and assets — mountains, buildings, stations, and scenery — for better coherence and overall environment quality, with more detail in shapes and textures
A full revamp of the 14 tutorial maps
1 brand new campaign map, alongside 2 existing ones that have been entirely reworked for the occasion
- In Freefly mode3 new environments also featured in the campaign maps (Planet Erida Delta2, Moon Voss, Asteroids Craxis Array)
Complete overhaul of the main menu interface and all UI elements
First pass of ship customization (just the beginning — more to come)
Improved leaderboard
Implementation of a player profile
Early version of player stats integrated into the profile
Improved in-game HUD: clearer, more informative, without cluttering the screen
Upgraded photo mode
New soundtrack playlist (temporary placeholder for now)
Enhanced visual effects on the ship
Major optimization pass
Tons of content uploaded across our social media
Total redesign of our Steam page visuals
Brand-new logos and banners for The RIFT
And a surprise with a very… French touch. Oui oui
