  • UI and audio
changedOne interesting tidbit about The Power Latch Kid (or PLK for short) is the various sources for audio, one of them being the underappreciated YM2151 sound chip used mainly in arcade cabinets. I'm using a vst in Ableton called VOPM that emulates the YM2151 to create some of the sound effects for Power Latch.

As I continue to learn more about the Steam pipeline and getting all my ducks in a row I'll be dropping additional cool-guy only info here.

The VOPM vst is free so here's a download link for it if you dabble in such things:

I've taken a few liberties with reverb and chorus with the YM2151 but overall its pretty faithful to what you might hear in the arcade of yesteryear.

I'm still mapping out a plan for future updates such as this, but until then tell a friend about PLK or go make some noise of your own!
