The Path of Ren changes
I'm thrilled to announce that the first publicly playable demo of The Path of Ren is now available on Steam!
This marks a major milestone in the game's journey and I can’t wait for you to experience it firsthand!
What to expect in the demo:
Challenging precision platforming on par with the full games intended difficulty.
A variety of mechanics and obstacles to give the most accurate feel for how the game plays.
Limited player customization options, to be unlocked by playing through the demo.
Several thought-provoking page journal entries to be found and collected.
Two timed trials to test your skills against time and point targets.
Assist mode options to lower the game's difficulty.
How does the demo compare to the full game?
The demo is a relatively small vertical slice containing most of the key features of the full game; however, as not to spoil anything, the levels from the demo are unique and mostly separate from those that will be experienced in the full game.
The full game will have:
Over 300 platforming challenges to be conquered.
5 orb abilities to master that allow for unique platforming.
Many more mechanics and hand-crafted environments to explore.
50 page journal entries to be collected.
Over 20 outfits to unlock and customize the player with.
Over 20 timed trials to test your skills.
A full RPG-style story.
Giving Demo Feedback
On the title screen of the demo, there's a big "Feedback" button that will allow you to give feedback on the demo. As a solo-developer, feedback is crucial to ensure I'm making something that was enjoyable to play. I'll be reading all feedback, good or bad, and using it to improve The Path of Ren.
Wishlist Now
Don’t forget to add The Path of Ren to your Steam wishlist to stay updated on future announcements, including the full release planned for 2025!
Thank you!
Thank you for joining me on this journey. I hope you enjoy playing the demo as much as I've enjoyed creating it!
