addedToday we have news to share about an update coming to The Outer Worlds as well as changes being made to the store pages. Starting today we will be pushing a couple of updates to The Outer Worlds through the Spacer’s Choice Edition . Today’s update is to test our release pipeline and fix a few issues that are in the game. The second patch will be larger bringing performance fixes, lighting changes, a host of other quest and gameplay fixes, and bringing in a brand-new feature to the original game: grenades!
changedAlong with the second patch, we have big store changes planned. Starting May 27th, the base game edition of The Outer Worlds will be delisted and the Spacer’s Choice Edition will be the single version of the game going forward. For those who already have the original version of the game in your libraries, it won’t be going anywhere. After May 27th, however, the only version of The Outer Worlds that will be available on most store pages will be the Spacer’s Choice Edition . The only platforms not affected by this are Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
changedBut wait, there’s more! If you have at least the base edition of The Outer Worlds in your library before May 27th, you will be receiving the Spacer’s Choice Edition free. That’s right, free! This is for all platforms that the Spacer’s Choice Edition is on (Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG). After May 27th, The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition will be available for $39.99.
changedA few other store changes are coming to those who have Xbox Ones and PlayStation 4s. After May 27th to upgrade to the Spacer’s Choice Edition from the base game on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, you will need to own the base game and both DLCs for The Outer Worlds . That said, we are removing the paid upgrade path and as long as you have everything, the Spacer’s Choice Edition will be yours. The base game and DLCs are also getting pricing adjustments to $24.99 and $14.99 respectively on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
