Greetings curators!

What changed

0 fixes7 additions2 changes0 removals
  • UI and audio
  • Gameplay
changedI initially created this project as a co-host for the Games For Blind Gamers 5 jam. The jam release culminated nearly 200 hours of development to introduce you to The Omega Conservatory and its core game loop of exploring the universe, finding your place in it, and killing time with music. Whether you played with just a keyboard, just a mouse, or a gamepad—with audio, visuals, or haptics alone—you curated a personalized collection of instruments which made you feel like a musical genius.
addedI was delighted to receive positive feedback from the jam community. Their encouragement led to the first post-jam update. After 50 hours of development, I expanded the project with a vertical slice of new content and features, enhancements, and fixes. This post-jam update ultimately inspired a roadmap of future updates, which will debut with a demo for Steam Next Fest in October 2026—and culminate in its full release sometime in 2027.
addedFor the Steam Next Fest demo, I intend to add another vertical slice to the experience:
addedExpand the universe with new celestial objects
addedExpand the dungeon with new rooms and floors
addedAdd an immersive mode with a reduced UI

I was delighted to receive positive feedback from the jam community. Their encouragement led to the first post-jam update. This post-jam update ultimately inspired a roadmap of future updates, which will debut with a demo for Steam Next Fest in October 2026—and culminate in its full release sometime in 2027.

For the Steam Next Fest demo, I intend to add another vertical slice to the experience:

  • Expand the universe with new celestial objects

  • Expand the dungeon with new rooms and floors

  • Add an immersive mode with a reduced UI

  • Implement support for MIDI and touch devices

  • Hint at the new features coming in the final release

  • And a variety of enhancements, fixes, and accessibility options

This demo will allow for unlimited play; however, it omits some important context! For the full Steam release, I intend to close its narrative loose ends: What is The Omega Conservatory? How did it acquire The Reach? What are the cycles? Who are you? And how do you fit into all of this? This will introduce a new layer of collectable relics, the auction house which completes the cycle, and a final showdown inside the dungeon. Perhaps there are some achievements too?

I'm excited to share more with you soon. Cheers!
