changedUpdate v1.2 of The Nightwatch is in development!I'm hard at work on version 1.2, which will bring several quality-of-life improvements and some of the most requested features from the community. While the full patch notes will come later, here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming:
addedTwo New Playable CharactersWithout disrupting the current game balance, v1.2 introduces two new characters that offer fresh ways to play and reach the endgame. Milestones, medals, and unlocks are shared across all characters, but now each medal will show which character achieved it.
addedResume SystemHad to quit mid-run? Game crash out of nowhere? A new save-state system will trigger when using a portal to the shop, letting you safely resume your run from the main menu whenever you're ready.
changedOptimizationsSome behind-the-scenes improvements are on the way to help the game run more smoothly, especially during the ultra-hard difficulty late-game around the 30–40 minute mark, where things can slow to a crawl. These changes should make even the hardest runs feel more responsive.
addedOptimizationsI don't have a definite timeline and patch note release date, but I'll be working on it actively in the next few weeks, pausing the development on the new untitled project I'm developing.
changedOptimizationsIf you have any feature request, bug, or anything you would like to see in the game, don't hesite to contact me here in this post or through any other way you might want to reach out (Discord, social networks).

Update v1.2 of The Nightwatch is in development!

I'm hard at work on version 1.2, which will bring several quality-of-life improvements and some of the most requested features from the community. While the full patch notes will come later, here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming:

Two New Playable Characters

Without disrupting the current game balance, v1.2 introduces two new characters that offer fresh ways to play and reach the endgame. Milestones, medals, and unlocks are shared across all characters, but now each medal will show which character achieved it.

Resume System

Had to quit mid-run? Game crash out of nowhere? A new save-state system will trigger when using a portal to the shop, letting you safely resume your run from the main menu whenever you're ready.

Graphic Improvements

Expect better-looking character sprites and animations, enhanced floor tiles, and more visual polish throughout the game. There’s lots of room for visual upgrades, and I'll do my best to make it better.

Optimizations

Some behind-the-scenes improvements are on the way to help the game run more smoothly, especially during the ultra-hard difficulty late-game around the 30–40 minute mark, where things can slow to a crawl. These changes should make even the hardest runs feel more responsive.

I don't have a definite timeline and patch note release date, but I'll be working on it actively in the next few weeks, pausing the development on the new untitled project I'm developing.

Thank you so much for playing the game. Astrow
