addedSince designing buildings is central to the gameplay of The New Rome , we wanted an interface that makes every part of your project easy to understand and configure. The new UI presents your building’s components with clear visual tiles and recognisable icons, making it simpler to explore different design options. Each option that can be picked come with different costs and benefits, and the new layout makes these strategic choices much clearer.
addedBeyond the visual makeover, this redesign fits much better with the systems we’ve added since the early prototype. For example: you can now switch between several design views while working on a project:

Beyond the visual makeover, this redesign fits much better with the systems we’ve added since the early prototype. For example: you can now switch between several design views while working on a project:

  • Component View: focus on the design of the currently selected component

  • Full View: See how the designs of all the parts will look together

  • Construction View: view progress of the building’s construction

These new perspectives make the design process more smooth and satisfying, especially as building projects grow more complex. Stay tuned for more frequent updates in 2026 as we work towards a demo release!
