addedNovember update - Camera and ArtworkWe have been busy with the development but we also have been making real progress on the background art - we now have around 30 rendered images completed and that is approximately 60 % of the total amount of unique background images. There will be a lot of locations and the locations will have a couple of images each just like the Diner location in the demo is comprised of three background images.
changedNovember update - Camera and ArtworkImproved Camera System
removedNovember update - Camera and ArtworkWhen Maya comes close to the Diner the camera will zoom out and create a staging area where maya no longer controls the camera - instead she moves freely in a static area. There will be a zoom when Maya talks with other characters and also when she inspects objects at a distance - we have a little nudge of the camera that gives the feeling of Maya just glancing over or slightly raising her head to look at something. All these things combined gets us a very dynamic and alive environment to explore!

November update - Camera and Artwork

Dear Doomsday Cult Followers!

We have been busy with the development but we also have been making real progress on the background art - we now have around 30 rendered images completed and that is approximately 60 % of the total amount of unique background images. There will be a lot of locations and the locations will have a couple of images each just like the Diner location in the demo is comprised of three background images.

All the important systems (Camera, GUI, Save/Load and so on) is now more or less finished

We have posted these images on our discord if you want to view them in beautiful hi-res. They feature the Doomsday Hotel exterior, the Graveyard exterior and some kind of engine/machine inside a shed somewhere.

Improved Camera System

We have been working with the camera to make it more dynamic in the scene. We have a couple of interesting camera systems in place now. There are areas where the camera zooms in and out (points of interest). When we enter and exit a location there will probably be some kind of zoom involved in order to create a sense of the trees closing in around Maya when she leaves the campsite.

When Maya comes close to the Diner the camera will zoom out and create a staging area where maya no longer controls the camera - instead she moves freely in a static area. There will be a zoom when Maya talks with other characters and also when she inspects objects at a distance - we have a little nudge of the camera that gives the feeling of Maya just glancing over or slightly raising her head to look at something. All these things combined gets us a very dynamic and alive environment to explore!

We are going to AdventureX!

https://www.adventurexpo.org/

This year we join up with other adventurers and point-and-click enthusiasts over at AdventureX! This is our first time attending and it will be a blast!

It will be a short mini-vacation away from children and wives and just hang out with all the nice folk in the biz. We will of course be bringing our Cap o' Cletus so if you are there and want to say hello - do not hesitate!

All the best! Pierre and Karl
