Not every expedition succeeds through force alone.

Some require patience. Others demand misdirection - and a willingness to step closer to the enemy than comfort allows.

This second loadout is designed around controlled aggression and infiltration, giving one squad member the tools to create openings while others capitalize on them.

It’s a kit that rewards coordination… and punishes hesitation.

The Francesca Axe is not a weapon you throw casually. It is a weapon of precision.

Its weight demands a careful throw, and damage depends on how it lands. A well-placed strike can shift an encounter, while a misjudged throw leaves you exposed. Ideal for players who time their actions to create pressure or finish fights efficiently.

The crossbow brings control to the squad.

It lets players apply pressure at range. Each shot is deliberate, covering allies or punishing distracted enemies. Unlike a traditional bow, bolts can pierce armor at very close range — a historically accurate trait that rewards careful positioning. It’s not about speed - it’s about setting the pace of the fight and controlling the battlefield.

The most unsettling piece of this loadout is not a weapon at all.

The Mask of Nyarlathotep allows its wearer to move among the Y’m-bhi unnoticed - provided it’s donned before attention is drawn. For a time, the undead will accept you as one of their own.

But this deception comes at a cost.

Wearing the mask gnaws at the mind, inflicting a creeping dread that leaves the wearer vulnerable if violence erupts. Worse still, the illusion isn’t selective: to your allies, you may look no different from the creatures you’re trying to fool. In the chaos of a fight, hesitation - or a trigger pulled too fast - can be fatal.

The mask is a tool for infiltration, scouting, and positioning… but it demands absolute trust from the squad.

Choose carefully. Some paths offer power… but ask for something in return.
