The Manse on Soracca changes
This is a very exciting update for me. We're bringing a lot of new content to The Manse on Soracca that will give you, the player, a lot more bang for your buck. Without wasting any time, let's get into it!
Four Moons: Four Ways to Play
The namesake feature of this update: the Four Moons! TMOS now has four different game modes! With this, we hope to let you tune the experience to your preferences, along with giving you additional replay value.
"Hushed New Moon": This game mode is designed for those who are unfamiliar with adventure games or those who would prefer a more relaxed experience. On this mode, the terrors of the Manse are markedly less aggressive. If you just want to soak in the atmosphere, or if you were having trouble on higher difficulties, this is the mode for you.
- "Eerie Crescent"This is the default game mode. If you're familiar with adventure games, or if you've completed the game on Hushed New Moon, then this is the mode for you.
"Bleeding Gibbous": This mode has a little more kick than the previous modes. In order to unlock it, you must complete the game on Eerie Crescent. On Bleeding Gibbous, the denizens of the Manse are more hostile than before. They know you're here, and they're coming for you. The more intelligent foes may even change their strategies to catch you off guard. Oh, and you should probably be wary of any lingering pools of blood. . .
"Vicious Full Moon": The Master of the Manse is tired of your insolence, and seeks to strike you down with this final challenge. This mode is what you might call a "Master's Quest". Item locations are shuffled, enemies are much more aggressive, and you'll have access to less resources than before. To access this mode, you must beat the game on Bleeding Gibbous.
A Map to Guide You
This update features a new item, the Map! The map can be accessed with Tab, and will give you the layout of the current floor. Additionally, it will display empty boxes for each item not yet found on that floor. If you're feeling stuck, check to make sure you aren't missing anything!
On Hushed New Moon, you start the game with the map in your inventory, but you'll need to find it on higher difficulties. The map will also display the silhouette of the item you're missing on Hushed New Moon. Perhaps you can use this to help piece together what you'll need?
Coming Soon: Tunes to be Haunted By
This update also introduces some new tunes by Alexander J. Chrisan! You can find them on higher difficulties, but you'll also be able to find them in TMOS's OST! We're in the process of bringing this to both Steam and streaming services, so keep an ear out for when that update comes along!
So, those are the major updates coming your way! I hope you'll enjoy playing them as much as I enjoyed making them! There is, of course, more to this update; you can find a full list of changes below.
New Features
New area: The Oubliette! This area can only be accessed on Vicious Full Moon. Don't worry though, it's more of a punishment than a reward. . .
New music by Alexander J. Chrisan! These tracks will play in certain areas on Bleeding Gibbous, and all throughout Vicious Full Moon. We hope you enjoy this different take the game's environments!
Two new achievements have been added. One for clearing the game on Bleeding Gibbous, and one for clearing the game on Vicious Full Moon. Good luck!

Quality and screen size functions now extend to the title screen. Some areas will still have the scanlines baked into them.
