We are finally here. NextFest begins in a few hours and I am pretty happy with the state of the game going in.

What changed

0 fixes1 addition3 changes0 removals
  • Gameplay
  • Maps
  • UI and audio
  • Performance
changedI would absolutely love to hear your thoughts and feedback on the demo (even if it's harsh), it really means a lot to me to hear what you think, what can be improved, what you don't like and/or suggestions for things to go into the game for the full release. I have a pretty good idea what I want but I will never ignore the opinion of someone who plays my games.
addedA new trailer has been released showcasing some of the things that are included in the demo (mainly highlighting the two minigames and the 4 maps), but included is a new track that was made for the Western Showdown minigame. It absolutely rocks so please enjoy!
changedI will continue to make updates throughout NextFest, both from your feedback and continued development of the game. My first port of call is improving the liveliness of the AI characters, getting their behaviour tweaked properly for the minigames and their general poker strategy. I'm also trying really hard to put emotes in the game by next week; the animations are done, I just need to learn how to do a radial menu and then the camera work.
changedAs for game stability, there are a few issues that I note, especially as a server host. If you experience a crash or some UI issue gets stuck (such as the Dealer's dialogue box on screen), please let me know! I need to refactor the code for how the Dealer dialogue works since it's been notoriously unstable (one of the first things I put into the game).

There's lots in the game and lots not in the game, but I hope that as you play, you appreciate what I am trying to do with The Lucky Hive and the direction it's going as a party poker game!
