The List changes
2 months ago on June 30th, I released my first game: The List.
I first want to say thank you to everyone who has played the game. The List has done so much better than I ever could've imagined. I was so glad to see players partake in rather lengthy discussions about the story of Jordan Grady and what it all meant. That might seem small, but seeing just how many people wanted to talk about the game after the credits rolled meant a lot. I figured if no one wanted to discuss the game, it would've meant the story was boring or nothing worthy of talking about. The amount of discussion was honestly so much more than I expected and I've read every comment, post, and review.
About 2 weeks before I launched The List I remember thinking about how lucky I would be to even have 100 people play my game, but little did I know my expectations would be blown vastly out of the water. Compared to other indies, The List was easily only a small splash in an ocean of other incredible games, but on my own personal level and what I was originally expecting the outlook to be, the success has been incredible. Thanks to each and everyone of you for playing.
Now, some of you may be wondering what I plan on doing next. Well I am glad you (maybe) asked!
Working in creative is tough. Really tough. The process of coming up with new ideas, stories, and worlds is not an easy task. So I do want to make clear that everything I am saying here can easily be subject to change.
Yes. I am working on a new game. Not all the fine details are there yet, but at the moment I do feel I have a strong foundation of a new story I want to tell. If you enjoy psychological thrillers and have a taste for the downright eerie, I think I may have something for you in the future.
This project will easily be more ambitious than The List. It may be a good long while until it (hopefully) releases. But if everything goes to plan, I think it will be something very, very special.
If you'd like to see future updates on this project (whenever that may be) I would suggest following The List on Steam if you have not yet already, and to following me on Twitter @DirectlyDaniel
Again, I want to thank all of you for playing The List. It means more to me than you could ever imagine.
Oh, and one last thing:
