The Lightless World changes

Level Progression - New!

Added the Soul Level Reward system. By gaining more Soul Levels you unlock permanent enhancements to your Character that will help you alongside Ability and Augment upgrades, as well as unlocking new Talents as you progress your Character.

Gameplay

  • Added a feature to collect souls between starting and final location during a Blink.

  • Rebalanced experience required for Character Soul level, old saves will keep their old level.

Events

Altar of Sacrifice:

  • Changed the minimum Soul Explosion multiplier from 0.75 to 1.5.

Bug fixes

  • Deployed a fix for when Client is in predictive mode (during high latency), which fixes the slow proc after a Blink granted by Talents, to now cast at the predicted location of the player before blinking.

  • Deployed a possible fix for Health bar (tooltip) desyncing with Health bar (Main UI) after collecting a Health upgrade.

  • Fixed a bug that could cause the camera POV to be stuck on an ally after being revived while in death animation.

  • Deployed a number of fixes to prevent game ending from causing soft locks.

  • Fixed an issue with Damaging Effects (Burn, Blight, Dark Shackles etc.) that could not apply Critical Damage even though it was stated.

Abilities

Void Beam:

  • Increased base DPS to 60 from 50.

  • Enabled Damage Leeched as Health.

  • Enabled Multicast.

  • Removed hidden "Hit" tag. Certain on Hit effects that could apply previously from Void Beam can no longer be procced. This change is inherited to all Abilities that have the "Dot" tag, unless specified in their tooltip that they can Hit. Additionally, all non-"Dot" Abilities are now considered as Hits, unless specified in their tooltip.

Veil of Blight:

  • Enabled Damage Leeched as Health.

Rupture:

  • Increased base AOE to 400 from 350.

Whirlwind:

  • Decreased base AOE to 600 from 650.

Enemy Balance and Fixes

Angelic Caster:

  • Holy Siphon is a 20 second cooldown ability, that affects a random alive player and activates after 2 seconds, dealing 40% of current 8/Health as damage that can not be mitigated. Since it is not indicated properly, it is now removed and will be added again at a later point.

  • Increased base Health to 4500 from 4000.

Angelic Swordsman:

  • Reverted Angelic Swordsman Rotating Blades base damage to 15 from 10. (Changed to 10 in v0.6.7-DEMO)

  • Changed collision check from sphere to hitboxes on the blades themselves, allowing melee focused playstyle, by avoiding the blades while they rotate.

  • Reduced rotation speed of the blades by 30%.

  • Added 0.25s delay before activating the collision on the Blades.

  • Increased the distance of blades from Swordsman's body. (basically a base AOE increase)

  • Adjusted Rotating Blades base AOE to 600 from 450.

  • Decreased base movement speed to 500 from 550.

  • Increased base Health to 1650 from 1500.

Knight:

  • Decreased base rotation speed.

  • Decreased attack animation speed of Cleave ability.

  • Decreased attack animation speed of Base ability.

  • Decreased base movement speed to 300 from 400.

  • Increased Cleave base AOE to 450 from 350 units.

  • Increased Cleave base Damage to 25 from 20.

  • Increased Slam base AOE to 600 from 550 units.

  • Decreased base Health to 1500 from 1800.

Holy Paladin:

  • Removed on death heal effect

Alchemist:

  • Reduced healing ability from 10% to 2% max hp.

UI Adjustments

Reworked Invasion End screen with additional information. Added a confirmation message at Invasion End screen when pressing Exit Game. Adjusted the position of Reroll Power-UP button to not overlap certain ability tags.

  • Updated the Ability Unlock and Augment Upgrade panels with a new background image.

Visual Effects

Updated the visuals for Void Beam. Fixed a flickering issue with Void Beam.

Animations

Updated Ability and move animations for the following Enemies:

  • Knight

  • Angelic Swordsman

Missing Patch Notes from Demo v0.6.7

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed Ker'Beroth Massacre Talent "Damage With Attacks" that wasn't working.

  • Fixed Ker'Beroth Massacre Mastery "Adrenaline Rush" that had a text error.

  • Fixed a bug with the Attribute System that would allow the players to keep the Flamestrike passive from Ker'Beroth Rage Subclass, when the subclass was not selected.

  • Fixed Ker'Beroth Ultimate icon at Skillbar to properly indicate when the ability can be activated/is active.

  • Fixed Advanced Skill info (Toggled with Alt when hovering over a skill) that was not visible for Clients.

  • Fixed a bug with bosses that would remove any CC too quickly.

  • Fixed a bug that would make all Obelisk events have 4 times more Health than intended.

  • Fixed a visual bug when unlocking an Augment where the animation of the chains fading out wouldn't play.

  • Fixed a visual bug when selecting a mastery for the first time where all masteries would be greyed out even though they can be selected.

  • Reduced volume of Graveyard and Ritual ambient sounds in Lava Level.

  • Fixed Server-Client bug when opening character sheet as Client. (Reapplied fix from v0.6.6)

  • Fixed Client bug with Event Rewards UI elements. (Reapplied fix from v0.6.6)

  • Fixed Soul homing towards a dead Player. (Reapplied fix from v0.6.6)

  • Fixed an issue where the Player could open the Pause Menu just before the Power-UP screen would become visible. This fix is a potential proxy fix to another bug that could cause the Sound Effects to be muted after it would occur.

  • Fixed a visual bug when converting Souls to Thousands/Millions.

  • Deployed a possible fix to enemies not dying when the Invasion ends successfully.

  • Fixed a bug where the Player had to walk out and in of the radius of souls, that was caused when the Player was inside the Altar of Sacrifice event with the Souls in question being outside, and the pickup radius was large enough to overlap them while being inside the Altar. Now when exiting the Altar it will trigger an additional event to gather those souls inside the Pickup Radius.

  • Fixed Vexoth Mastery "Soul Energy" that wasn't applying after an Enemy kill.

  • Fixed Physical and Elemental Vulnerability that were not applying correctly.

  • Fixed a camera glitch when returning to Main Menu from other panels.

  • Fixed a visual bug with Soul Account XP at the end of the Invasion, where it would look like the Player gained more Levels than it should.

UI Adjustments

  • Increased Text Size of Augment Skill Tooltips.

  • Updated the visuals of current Rage with a Rage Bar adjacent to the skill (Unhinge).

  • Rotated the Minimap to match the rotation offset caused by camera angle.

  • Added Skill Tags in Character Panel (Main Menu) when unlocking Abilities and Augments.

  • Improved Ability Preview Text in Character Panel.

  • When selecting Augments in Ability Preview, the Augment name/type will be highlighted for the currently selected Augment.

  • Removed the Ability name from the Augment Name (for the augments only preview in the Main Menu). Previously it would read "Impact: Whirlwind" whereas now it reads "Impact".

  • Added confirmation messages for resetting Abilities and Talents.

  • Changed the text of "Respec all Talents" button to "Reset Talents".

  • Reset Talents button will now be hidden when there are no talents selected.

  • Added a small delay when hovering over a Skill before opening the Skill Tooltip, while in game mode.

  • Updated the Skill Image for Veil of Blight.

Event System

The Legendary Power-UP reward "Legend is Born" is now visible in UI with a count of how many are remaining.

  • Fixed a bug where "Legend is Born" (with its previous implementation) was not applying to Clients.

  • Obelisks no longer scale with Map Modifiers. Obelisks now scale only with Enemy Level.

  • Reduced Obelisk base HP.

  • Events that do damage (such as Siege Machines) now scale their Damage with Enemy Level.

  • Improved Siege Machine firing rate. Will now fire every 10 seconds instead of 16 seconds.

  • Improved Siege Machine targeting. Previously if the player was too far away from the machine, it would fail to find any targets. Now the machine will target an enemy unit near a random player.

  • Fixed a bug that would cause enemy projectiles to treat Siege Machines collision as solid wall and fail to do damage to it during defend mode.

Updated Event rewards to grant 3 guaranteed Legendary Power-UP choices after completing the following events:

  • Altar of Sacrifice

  • Arena

  • Siege Machines

  • Obelisks (When all are destroyed)

Updated the base chance to appear in Invasion for following events:

  • ArenaIncreased to 40% from 25%.
  • Siege MachinesIncreased to 33% from 25%.
  • Altar of SacrificeIncreased to 33% from 25%.

Abilities

Adjusted Carnage, Dark Shackles, Siphon Light, Void Beam, Veil of Blight, Black Hole, Lingering Black Hole, Cursed Ground (Curse of Calamity augment), Fiery Trail (Rupture ground effect) tooltips to show their Damage per Second damage. Annihilation:

  • Increased max distance to 1800 from 1500 units.

  • Increased projectile sizes of both normal and meteor augmented.

  • Improved skill targeting and added movement prediction to the targeting system of the skill.

  • It will now seek target per skill internal activation instead of once at skill activation.

  • Meteor Augment is now an Expand type instead of Concentrate.

  • Change previous Expand Augment that created a damage over time in the epicenter of the meteors, to a new Affliction Augment: "Meteors have [50-75-100]% chance to apply Burn to enemies in the blast".

Aphotic Cloud:

  • Fixed a visual bug when having the Dash augment, that would reset the ability cooldown in the Skill Bar.

  • Lesser Clouds spawned when dashing will now recalculate their modifiers, instead of snapshotting the previous ability activation modifiers.

Hellfire Burst:

  • Removed duration modifiers from being offered for Hellfire Burst. Any duration modifiers will not affect the duration of Hellfire Burst by design. However it can be modified by other Modifiers that target Duration tagged Abilities. (e.g. increased Damage with Duration Skills)

Carnage:

  • Increased base DPS to 20 from 16.

Enemy Balance and Fixes

  • Reduced Paladin Defender melee attack base damage to 15 from 20.

  • Reduced Battlemage melee attack base damage to 15 from 25.

  • Reduced Angelic Caster melee attack base damage to 15 from 20.

  • Reduced Angelic Caster melee attack Cooldown to 0.5 from 4 seconds.

  • Reduced Angelic Swordsman Rotating Blades base damage to 10 from 15.

  • Reduced Paladin Holy Smite base damage to 25 from 30.

  • Reduced Priest Sun ability base tick damage to 5 from 15.

  • Increased Knight cleave attack base damage to 20 from 18.

  • Increased Knight bash attack base damage to 25 from 20.

  • Fixed a bug with Angelic Swordsman Blade Throw ability that would travel twice as long than intended. Increased the travel distance to 2000 from 1500 units, which turns out to be 33% less travel distance than before the fix.

  • Fixed a bug with Angelic Caster boss where the Channeling Flames Ability was not casted.

  • Increased Angelic Caster Channeling Flames ability base Area of Effect to 550 from 400 units.

  • Fixed a bug with Mage Fire Ability where the Firestorm Ability was not casted.

  • Fixed a bug with Angelic Swordsman Rotating Blades ability that was not cleared properly after the Boss died.

  • Added immunity to pull effects (Black Hole, Magma Vortex etc) to Angelic Caster while casting Holy Beam Ability.

Gameplay

  • Increased the Experience gained from Boss kills the further you are in the Invasion.

Animations

  • Revamped the animations of Enemies and the Characters, including animations for status effects.

  • Fixed some weapon socket translations on Enemy units to match new animations.

  • Fixed an issue with Ker'Beroth Idle animation.

Visual Effects

  • Revamped the visual effects for a couple of abilities.

  • Added Hit Feedback Effect to Events that can be Damaged.

  • Adjusted the effect attached to Ker'Beroth while Unhinged.

  • Updated the Visuals of Void Beam.
