The enthusiasm we've seen since The Legend of California was announced has been overwhelming in the best way possible, and we appreciate that so many of you have shown up for the game so early on.

We'll be hosting our first public playtest, The Legend of California Alpha, from March 26 - March 30 right here on Steam. This is an important moment for both the game and our studio, and we're excited to be able to share it with this community as well as welcome more players onto the Island of California.

If you’re interested in joining the playtest, you can sign up by going to the main store page and clicking the [Request Access] button (right above “Add to your wishlist”). The playtest itself will be very small, so that means that not everyone who signs up will be invited to play. If you’re selected to participate, you’ll receive a Steam notification and the alpha client will be automatically added to your game library.

If you’d like to learn more about The Legend of California, developers Jeff Kaplan and Tim Ford livestreamed the game for over 10 hours this past weekend, digging into various systems, mechanics, and features, sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the game's development, and answering questions from chat. Check out the full VOD below!

PS: We know this is a long video, and you may not have time to watch it all. So, we've pinned a post to the top of the comments section that includes timestamps for some key moments + popular topics from the steam.
