Friends, I'm back. Steam post image

The reason for my absence is a simple yet terrifying one for any indie developer - burnout.

I've been mostly silent lately, and it's time to be honest about why. I faced something many developers are afraid to talk about openly - complete professional burnout and fatigue from a single project.

Eight years working on one project, tons of rewritten code, a constant battle with my own ambitions... There came a point where I simply couldn't look at the project anymore. Not because I fell out of love with it, but because my brain refused to cooperate.

However, I'm grateful for this crisis - it forced me to stop, take a step back, and find the right solution. Instead of forcing myself to push through, I took a break and created a new framework - a tool that would make development a joy again, not a chore.

Here's what's happening now:

  • The game is being rewritten with a new architecture

  • The "one change equals a week of bug fixes" problem will disappear

  • It will open up possibilities for mods and large-scale content

  • Updates won't weigh 2 GB anymore

  • My workflow will be smoother as this framework will handle many functions

I'm returning with renewed energy and a clear vision of how to make The Last World the game I've dreamed of all these years.

Thank you for staying with me during this difficult time. Your messages and comments truly helped me from abandoning everything completely.

P.S. Ask me anything about the development process - I'm back in action and ready to share!
