To mark the series' renewal, we shall now begin delivering special messages from the creative team as a prologue to the “Development Diaries”. These heartfelt messages embody our sentiments towards this era and this work, and we hope to share the memories and emotions of “The Last Poem” with you, chapter by chapter.

Hello, I'm Tomo Kataoka (the Prince of Narratives) ><

This work is set in Akihabara in 1999!

Japan at that time (post-bubble) wasn't exactly thriving...

But in terms of ‘otaku culture’, it might have been a fiery, formative era.

Back then, I was active in a doujin circle (Stage Nana) myself.

Many current PC game developers started out as doujin circles back then.

I'm sure everyone could talk endlessly about that era.
