  • Gameplay

addedWith The Hungry Fly, we wanted to try a new approach to development. When making our first game The Repairing Mantis, I tried to stick completely to the initial vision I’ve had of the game, and integrate nothing else, so the experience would be as “pure” as possible. In other words, I got rid of everything that didn’t evoke some very specific emotions. Was it really necessary to make an interesting game?
changedI thought it did. Then, I saw this incredible puppet show : Body Concert by the Lone Wolf Tribe. After the show, I had the chance to hear the artist talk about his work. That show took many years to make. Yet, the director gave himself the permission to change his mind during the whole creation process. As a result, the project contains a very broad range of emotions (fun, sad, cute…). The experience is still coherent, and has a lot of nuances.
addedThe show really inspired me to stop fighting new ideas that come through development. It’s ok if some things disappear. It gives place to new ones. I am curious about how the game will turn out.
removedNote that the demo will no longer be accessible after the Steam Next Fest (February 13th), because it may no longer reflect the game’s quality. We might put back an updated version later, but we don’t promise anything for now, so play it soon if you want to try it. :)

After more than a year of development, the first demo is out!

This release marks only the beginning, yet it still feels like a long time ago that we started this project.

It started with “it would be cool if we could embody a fly eating rotting flesh”, and it’s now a dark tale with a very personal story.

With The Hungry Fly, we wanted to try a new approach to development.

Note that the demo will no longer be accessible after the Steam Next Fest (February 13th), because it may no longer reflect the game’s quality. We might put back an updated version later, but we don’t promise anything for now, so play it soon if you want to try it. :)

Thanks for your interest in our game.
