Devlog #1: The new and improved inn!

For the first devlog, I wanted to highlight the most important building in the game... your inn! When we first see it, it's a dilapidated farmhouse that really doesn't look very promising.

addedWhen we first see it, it's a dilapidated farmhouse that really doesn't look very promising. I wanted to incorporate more visual changes into this game compared to the prequel, The Lost Art of Innkeeping , so you'll see both the exterior and interior of the inn transform over time, as you discover new items, meet new people, and buy upgrades.
addedI'm still working on adding more stuff in the garden. You'll also get the chance to customize a few things about the inn, if you have (in-game) money to spare. :)

So after some (very expensive) renovation...

I wanted the renovated inn to look like a definite improvement over the old farmhouse, but still retain some features of the original building. As a result, you can see above that the roof is still made from palm fronds and the walls have a "wooden" look (as opposed to being constructed from brick, stone, or concrete). I also spent some time designing the windows so that they look a little more unique.

And of course, this being a hotel by the beach, the more expensive guest rooms have a balcony from which you can enjoy the view!

I'm still working on adding more stuff in the garden. You'll also get the chance to customize a few things about the inn, if you have (in-game) money to spare. :)
