The Hero Of Pixel Spire changes
Summary
In the 1.02 update, we were highly focused on delivering smoother performance, clearer combat, and more rewarding runs. You now have a chance to find high-tier spells earlier, and snag shop discounts.
Enemies, bosses, perks, and spells have been rebalanced for better readability, stronger builds, and a tougher Hard Mode. Alongside these changes are numerous bug fixes for a cleaner, more polished experience.

New Features
There is now a very small chance that a higher tier spell will appear in the spell shop. (indicated by a green gem marker)
There is now a small chance for an item to be on sale in the shop. (Indicated by a red percent marker)
In Graphics settings there is a slider for player projectile opacity.
Hard mode just got harder! Enemies now do 25% more damage.
Gameplay Tweaks
Fire Knight Enemy buff - Attacks further away, increased frequency, and a better attack indicator.
Slight increase to Infernabomb Enemy damage.
Removed Falling Rock Hazard from Corrupted Ascendant Boss Fight
Beam of Light from Corrupted Ascendant has slightly longer start-up (easier to avoid).
Infernal Warden has higher knockback on his spin move.
Removed Pygmy follower poison chance.
'Hot Tempered' - Tiki Boss Perk has been Reworked. Instead of happening only 1 time at half hp, now anytime you get hit while below half hp, you release the shockwave.
Changed the sprite of 'warden’s armor' boss perk slightly.
Adjusted ‘flashes’ to not be pure white. This makes them less intrusive.
Adjusted the way some perk point categories are calculated.
RNG Master Perk now shows what you gained via Stat Menu green text.
Explosions caused by the perk ‘explosive’, now scale with highest attack stat.
Monolith of Chaos now has button animations.
'Demonic lottery' spell now scales off of highest damage stat.
Slight change to the 'icicle volley' and 'absolute zero' spells.
Reduced 'Ground Smash' spell's mp cost
Explosive barrels now take defense into consideration.
All classes now have an increased crit damage increase of +50%
Algorithm changes for enemy hp/damage for looping.
Performance
Gold Collection should no longer cause large frame drops.
Slight optimization to spell inventory.
Implemented Object pooling on floating text. (less costly)
Health machine no longer tanks fps when standing in front of it.
Optimized several scripts to reduce lag spikes caused by GC.
Small layering optimization.
Enemy stats refactor for faster outs. (slightly better performance)
Hitbox optimization for better performance.
Several smaller scripts refactored for better performance.
Bug Fixes
Proper bottom tiles on Exile’s Boss Perk Room
Fixed not getting flawless if hit while between floors (trap, monolith, etc.)
Crit Chance will no longer appear in the shop if the player is above 100%.
Reroll now actually deducts the currency from the player.
Ability Inventory greyed out & red indicators scale corrected.
Spell upgrader ability tooltip no longer says “Description: “
No longer accidentally pause the game while trying to escape the spell upgrade window during animation.
Warden’s Fury Boss Perk now makes the fireballs do the same amount of damage as the spell itself.
When switching boss perks, berserk no longer stays active.
Infinite Refraction now lightning type.
Thunder Cloud spell now lightning type.
Warden’s Wrath spell now fire type.
Sacred Vortex Hitbox fix + Change from stun to burn.
Heaven’s Spear no longer deletes projectiles
Vorpal Drill now animating correctly.
Spelling mistakes on buffs.
Teleporter hover animations for the next floor button are fixed.
Monolith text not showing for some options.
Statue broken pieces layering
Some torch layering
Warden’s armor + mask layering issue in the stat menu.
Aura Layers
Skipping to the 3rd phase of warden doesn’t hide the lava.
Can no longer cause status effects on enemies immune to damage.
Elite Towerling collisions fixed.
Abyss Level Collider Fixes.
Explosive Barrels no longer drop coins.
No longer aim while the game is paused.
Ending a run no longer shows that you died by the last enemy that hit you.
Winning with the scout no longer bugs out the loadout menu.
