changedIt's been 1 week since the demo for The Grimwood Hex was released! The response has been amazing to see, and we're so happy that you've enjoyed playing what we have so far. That being said, we have made a few improvements where needed.
changedDifficultyThe game before was too hard. We haven't seen many players get to the boss and defeat it, let alone play any of the optional challenges. For this reason, we've decided to reduce the amount of enemies that spawn per arena by 1.
addedDifficultyThis should provide new players a better experience where they can progress further, while still maintaining a higher difficulty for our more confident players with the optional challenges.
addedAudioThere was some aspects of the demo that were missing audio which have now been introduced. These include:
changedAudioCombat music
changedAudioPicking up cards

Difficulty

The game before was too hard. We haven't seen many players get to the boss and defeat it, let alone play any of the optional challenges. For this reason, we've decided to reduce the amount of enemies that spawn per arena by 1.

This should provide new players a better experience where they can progress further, while still maintaining a higher difficulty for our more confident players with the optional challenges.

Audio

There was some aspects of the demo that were missing audio which have now been introduced. These include:

  • Combat music

  • Picking up cards

  • The toad croaks!

  • Loot chest opening

Moving Forward

We've gotten a lot of helpful feedback that we'll be applying to The Grimwood Hex in the coming months. Some of which include making the "why am I playing this board game?" more appealing, by adding some more narrative context and interesting gameplay moments.

We'll also be adding much more content, such as more enemies, obstacles, cards, items and rings.

There's also some usability issues that have been brought up, such as some players feeling like they're constantly battling the camera.

We aim to fix or implement these feedback points for when we release, which is still TBA.

Thank you so much for playing!!!
