The Forgotten Nightmare Series changes
The Forgotten Nightmare Series Is Now Available
Welcome to The Forgotten Nightmare Series!
After years of development, rebuilding, and remastering, I’m excited to finally release the game on Steam.
The Forgotten Nightmare Series is a retro-style text adventure inspired by classic parser games, where players explore a mysterious future world using typed commands, solve puzzles, and uncover the story piece by piece.
Originally started back in 2012, this release is a modern remastered edition designed to preserve the classic text adventure experience while adding modern platform support and accessibility improvements.
The game also includes Christian themes and explores questions surrounding hope, truth, judgment, and redemption throughout both the story and optional in-game content.
Features include:
Classic parser-based gameplay
Hand-drawn auto-mapping system
Keyboard and controller support
Steam Deck support
Accessibility-focused navigation improvements
Story-driven exploration across multiple chapters
I’m also a solo indie developer, so I truly appreciate every wishlist, review, bug report, and piece of feedback from players.
If you decide to play the game, thank you for supporting indie development and retro text adventures.
I hope you enjoy exploring the world of The Forgotten Nightmare Series.
– Chris
