Players explore procedurally generated maps filled with bounty, danger, and quirky characters. They can choose their battles and quests freely, managing their deck, ship, crew and item collection to overcome challenges.

The ultimate goal is to is to defeat the Pirate Overlord and ascend to power. Each victory resets the game, with players facing their previous character as the Pirate Overlord in subsequent playthroughs.
