The Feud: Wild West Tactics changes
Today’s patch covers two things: Bug fixes and some significant tweaks to accuracy/avoidance/AI posse composition.
While it may seem like people’s complaints aren’t being heard, we do take every comment and criticism to heart. While we’ve been fixing the bugs that came along with all the new content we’ve also been taking a close look at combat and have made some significant adjustments. As a side note, we did check the RNG and it is working.
Cover avoidance has been reduced 5% but cover defense chance has been increased 5% along with a small increase (+1) in the amount of damage it blocks on defense chance success.
Hired gun base dodge rates have been decreased. This affects all hired guns. Level ups, gear etc. can still increase these values. Hero dodge values have not changed.
Weapon base hit numbers have risen from 80% to 85%. Again, this covers everyone from heroes to hired guns.
We fixed a bug with diagonals on medium to close range bonuses. Most probably aren’t even aware fully that there is a +10% bonus at half weapon range and a +30% at point blank range. The bug involved diagonals not working/applying the bonus.
There was a story mode item that was not meant for AI hired guns that was sometimes being equipped on low level hired guns creating a worst case scenario that elevated some hired gun stats when it did occur. This has been fixed.
One of the most significant changes is dramatically altering the chances that low-level AI hired guns get a weapon or piece(s) of gear equipped. This has overall made them less accurate, do less damage, resist less damage etc.
The first AI posses that spawn have also received some tweaks. There is a new type of enemy that can be a part of them that is weaker/lower level and the overall number of enemies that make up early game posses has been reduced from 3-5 to 3-4.
Overall, the game will be a bit more hit centric, the early enemy posses will be more manageable in Ranch Hand, Gunslinger and Showdown difficulties and give players of all skill levels some time to settle in, level up and get some items before hitting the tougher challenges. However, you’ll still have streaks of misses sometimes as well as streaks of hits it’s just how any system that uses accuracy works.
One final thing to recommend is if you are having trouble with an enemy, hover over them and see what perks they have. It can pay off to work on eliminating enemies with perks like Military Training (+15% accuracy) and potentially even avoiding early attacks on enemies with retaliatory shots (these can hit retaliate no matter the range). If you’ve noticed a pistol or other shorter range enemy that is hitting you from afar they may also have the extended range perk. Most the perks you can also get on your own hired guns, so keep an eye out for these sorts of advantages when you are recruiting.
As for bugs Akima should be able to equip his gear and hired guns shouldn’t be falling down when they use some abilities are among a few of the fixes.
There will be a follow up patch next week to fix some remaining issues along with some slight additional tweaks. Until then, happy hunting!
