Updated Demo

Hey everyone! I recently updated the demo to improve its overall pacing. The biggest change I made was to move the board game puzzle from the second case to a post-demo optional challenge level.

addedI recently updated the demo to improve its overall pacing. The biggest change I made was to move the board game puzzle from the second case to a post-demo optional challenge level. While many of you enjoyed it, some players found it too hard and I think that it was a little too complex to be introduced this early in the game. Now that it's completely optional, only players who like the extra challenge can choose to play it.
addedIf you finished the demo but haven't seen the board game puzzle yet, it's now available in the Case Select menu
changedOther incremental improvements that I made but didn't post about earlier:
addedAdded a button to quickly navigate between the rule-book and the rules filling section
addedAdded visuals to the final conversation in the second case
changedImproved on and added new hints

I recently updated the demo to improve its overall pacing. The biggest change I made was to move the board game puzzle from the second case to a post-demo optional challenge level. While many of you enjoyed it, some players found it too hard and I think that it was a little too complex to be introduced this early in the game. Please note:

  • If you already played through the board game puzzle, nothing will change for until you reset the second case in the Case Select menu

  • If you finished the demo but haven't seen the board game puzzle yet, it's now available in the Case Select menu

Other incremental improvements that I made but didn't post about earlier:

  • Added a button to quickly navigate between the rule-book and the rules filling section

  • Highlighted some clues in the second case that I noticed some players were missing

  • Added visuals to the final conversation in the second case

  • Improved on and added new hints

  • Fixed a bug in Conversation Pt. 2 where clicking the book was causing the conversation to continue when it should have been paused

  • Increased the contrast between the storybook and the background in the first case

I've also been getting some great suggestions for the UI that I look forward to implementing in future updates/the full game. Huge thanks to everyone who's shared feedback or left a kind review/comment so far. It really means so much to me and keeps me motivated! :)

Cheers!
