The Dark Realms of Chrysalis changes
Six years ago, I heard my friend Adisha's music for the very first time.
The moment I listened to it, I had one thought:
"One day, I want to build a world worthy of this music."
At the time, I wasn't a game developer. I simply had a dream.
Over the past six years, I've spent countless hours learning game development, game design, level design, programming, and everything else needed to turn that dream into reality.
The journey hasn't been easy. There were moments when project files became corrupted, backups failed to restore, major systems broke without me understanding why, and bugs that took days, or even week, to solve. There were crashes that made me wonder if months of work had been lost forever, and there were many nights when I genuinely thought about giving up.
But every setback became another lesson. Every problem I solved made me a better developer. Every obstacle pushed this project one step closer to becoming the game I had imagined all those years ago.
Looking back, I'm glad I didn't quit.
While I've collaborated with friends for inspiration, music, story discussions, ideas, and feedback, around 99% of The Dark Realms of Chrysalis has been created by me as a solo developer and game designer.
Like many indie developers, I've also used high-quality assets to help bring this world to life. As one person, creating every model, animation, texture, sound, and visual effect from scratch simply isn't realistic. Instead, I've focused on building the world, designing the gameplay, writing the systems, crafting the atmosphere, and combining those assets into a cohesive experience that I hope feels unique.
I also want to be honest about what to expect.
This project is still in development. You'll likely come across bugs, rough edges, animations that aren't perfect, and systems that will continue to evolve. I'll do everything I can to fix issues, improve the experience, and keep polishing the game with every update. I don't expect perfection, but I do promise dedication and continuous improvement.
Most importantly, I don't want to build this game alone anymore.
I want to build it with you.
Your feedback will help shape the future of The Dark Realms of Chrysalis. Whether it's new creatures, factions, locations, quests, mechanics, quality-of-life improvements, or simply telling me what you loved (or didn't), I genuinely want to hear it.
This isn't just my journey anymore, it's ours.
Every wishlist, every playtest, every bug report, every review, and every suggestion helps move this project one step closer to the game I've imagined for the past six years.
Thank you for believing in this dream and for giving a solo developer the chance to bring it to life.
The journey has only just begun. ❤️
See you soon in Chrysalis.
