The Dark Realm changes
Travelers!
Version 1.0.3 has finally come, and with it Skill Trees, Item Reworks, and a lot of other updates!
CLASSES 2.0
Most of the classes have got major reworks, to make each and every class stand out more, and to make their gameplay loop more fun. All of the Ultimates are now on either 1 or 2 Stage cooldown, instead of a timer. This allows us to put more power into them (especially considering Skill Trees).
SKILL TREES
Ability Upgrades in Shop have been replaced with actual, per-class Skill Trees! You now gain a Skill Point every level (as opposed to every 5 before). Small Skill Nodes (granting flat stats) cost one Skill Point, while Big Skill Nodes (granting ability upgrades)
ITEM BALANCING
All of the Items in the game stack again! Making Rare items stronger but limiting them to one per run was definitely a failed experiment, so stacking is back - and more interesting than ever! Most of the Rare items (as well as some Uncommon ones) have been adjusted to be more fun to use.
ACHIEVEMENT ADJUSTMENTS
Some of the achievements were definitely setting the bar too high, so we changed some of them to be more fair. That being said, some are still pretty challenging or grindy.
GAUNTLET REBALANCE
Gauntlet has received a lot of changes, to increase the replayability, but also to make it just a tiny bit easier.
AI CHANGES
Most of the enemy attacks in the game now scale with BOTH Stage and Difficulty (and some other hidden factors), instead of one or the other, ensuring the entire run stays around consistent in difficulty, without major spikes.
SPECIAL TIER GEAR REWORK + GEAR CATALOG
Every single gear piece of Special or higher quality now rolls from 2 predetermined substats and has it's own unique effect, which you can view in the all new Gear Catalog, accessible from the Collection Tab. Most of the items have also been slightly changed. This should make Special gear easier to understand for new players, as well as make it slightly more desirable to pick up, instead of being very situational.
SMALL CHANGES
Many. Too many to list. There's a Screenshake toggle now!
BUGFIXES
Yes.
We're aiming to improve Sound Design in our next update, as well as expand on Player Customization.
It's been a while since the last update, but a lot of love, time and effort went into this one. We hope you'll enjoy it!
See you in the Realm!
