The Crimson Lyre changes
Holiday Update Patch Notes!
Hey everyone! As we approach the end of 2025 let me start by giving thanks to all of you that have played my game. Making a game as a solo developer is hard but worth it⦠My plan is to continue making games until the wheels fall off and having a community to share them with is a privilege I cherish. Also, this marks the 6 months mark of Early Access for The Crimson Lyre and halfway to 1.0.
This month I finished the Lich quest logic, although I might add more lore at different parts of the game for context. I also started a quest that alludes to a secret involving the rubedo achievement - More on that next month. I made some changes to the combat that will I hope make it more engaging. More combat updates would likely involve enemy AI, so that might be difficult. One major change is the addition of a combat health bar for when fights get up close and personal. Detail below:
New Content:
Quest that starts with freeing someone! (Rubedo)
A Christmas celebration in the hub world that will last until the New Year update
A note about the Halloween and Christmas events. I donât know if I will do any more of these moving forward. Each of these took maybe an hour to put together and I did it on a whim. In a future update I will make them accessible based on your PC's clock.
Lich Fight secret side quest added
Combat updates (Work in Progress):
If fighting an enemy and health bar is offscreen, a âcombatâ health bar is added
Dash added to swords and axes
Camera shake added to enemy hits
Bug Fixes:
FOV fixed for legacy players
Looking Ahead:
Combat
AI review
Blocking review
Enemy damaged animations
Balancing
More ways to take out the lava golem
Fixing game over screen so you canât access menu
More armor weapons and loot balancing
Thanks!
