The Chronicles: Wasteland Assault changes
Greetings everyone!
I've been looking forward to this day. A big update has finally arrived and I'm thrilled to share all of the new additions with you all.
As a quick summary: We have added 5 missions for the player to complete to get familiar with the game. I call this, Act I. It's very story driven and we'll expand upon it in further updates. Along with it comes with an expanded base building layout, more things to do in the world, and even easter eggs that I've left behind.
ATTENTION! If you have previously played this game and have an existing game file, use the save delete system seen on the main menu to begin a fresh start. You're game will break if you try to continue an existing game.
For those who love details, here is the detailed change-log.
Safezone (Player base)
Expanded the perimeter of the buildable fence, giving more room for the player and will allow more buildings to be built in future updates.
Added new blueprints and buildable items for the player to construct.
Added new items to find around the map.
Exploration and maps
Added more points of interest to the existing Shack, and Pit map.
Added a bandit camp that can be found in a specific mission.
Added the Forgotten Vally, the same prologue map that Angus (the ghoul) was ambushed in.
Pause menu
We've added four new categories for the player to navigate while paused.
Items menu: This allows the player to inspect a catalogue of the weapons that they have obtained. It also holds all of the blueprints that they have collected for their safezone, all of their building materials and ammo.
Rank list: Ranks (Renown) is now in the game, rewarding the player with items and materials as they level up. You can explore all of the unlockable ranks by using the slider. More about ranks down below.
Mission details: This tab gives a brief description of the mission that the player is currently focusing on. It will also keep track of the objectives that have been completed, including what they should be doing now.
- CharactersThis tab is unfinished and will be available in the next update in the next few weeks.
Ranks and XP
This new feature will reward the player in everything they do. Ranging from slaying enemies, building or upgrading items, and completing missions. Playing in survival mode is a great way to build up your renown faster. The first few ranks will give the player rewards, further ranks are yet to provide anything just yet. This too will be expanded on in the next few weeks.
Other notable changes and additions:
Added Bandits! (Yes, enemies that shoot at you!) They don't like you, so you should shoot them back.
Mouse scroll now allows you to change weapons without needing to open the weapon wheel.
Changed some Screamer behaviours both in story mode and survival.
New loading screen art has been added.
Slight character edits.
Main menu now cycles through 4 different locations for a bit of variety.
Some fixes in survival mode.
Added dialogue and noises for the two playable characters.
Added a dark background for pick-up text to read easier in bright backgrounds.
Some grammatical corrections.
Probably some bugs that I'll take care of later.
The fireplace upgrade now slowly heals your character.
Some fun easter eggs.
There was so much added over these past few months, I'm sure that I've missed some things. Either way, this game now has more bang for you buck! (Even though it's a free game.)
Hope everyone enjoys. Let me know what you all think about it. Have a good weekend, and take care.
