Line 17 keeps growing: New WIP video shows the next section to Bramfelder Dorfplatz
Following the recently showcased section of Line 218, it is now time for the next look at the ongoing work on the The Bus DLC Hamburg City.
A new work-in-progress video presents another already well-advanced section of the Line 17 extension.
Development of the Line 17 expansion is continuing to make visible progress. After the previously presented section from Hellbrookstraße to Richeystraße, the focus now shifts to the following segment, where the routes of Lines 7 and 17 separate from each other.
From the Gustav-Seitz-Straße intersection, Line 17 continues eastbound along Steilshooper Allee. At the junction with Bramfelder Chaussee, it turns north and follows this important main road. Numerous shops, restaurants, and urban infrastructure along the busy street help create an authentic atmosphere.
One notable landmark along the route is the Osterkirche, built in the 1960s and immediately recognizable thanks to its distinctive octagonal design. Another eye-catching feature is a former gas station that has been extensively renovated and is now used by an automotive appraisal company.
Further along the route, the line reaches the Marktplatz Galerie, a large shopping center that also introduces new technical features: dynamic advertising banners have been implemented for this location, allowing seasonal advertisements such as Christmas or Easter market promotions to appear.
Shortly after the shopping center, the route enters Bramfelder Dorfplatz. This area is currently shaped by the construction site of the future station for the new U5 subway line, which has a major impact on the cityscape. The route layout has been adjusted accordingly and now runs around the construction area. On the northern side, the return trip toward Barmbek begins. Additional layover spots are also available here, providing more operational flexibility.
With this new section, Line 17 grows by around 5 kilometers to a total length of approximately 17 kilometers, making it one of the most extensive routes within the Hamburg DLC.
As always, all shown content represents work-in-progress material from the current stage of development and may still change before the final release.
We hope you enjoy the new video and this further preview of the upcoming expansion!
