changedThe Bornfire is a game where a campfire burns on your desktop while you work, study, or go about your day. We love the idea of a gentle kind of gameplay that keeps you company in the background without pulling you away from what you're doing. At the same time, we wanted to give it enough depth to make coming back to the fire genuinely worthwhile, so you'd want to linger there a little longer.
addedAs you uncover their stories, you'll get to know Tírválen more deeply, draw new guests to the fire, and open up new ways to play.
changedThere's also an altar by the fire, where you can place offerings. These are special artifacts that affect not only your stats, but the world itself, shaping who shows up next and what rewards you'll receive. It's a system we're planning to keep developing, so that offerings feel like a meaningful part of what's happening around the fire.

That's why storytelling is at the heart of The Bornfire.

Our world is called Tírválen. It's a land shaped by Celtic mythology, with its own conflicts, heroes, and villains. Once, it was vast and alive. Now, all that's left of it is your fire. What happened to Tírválen is something you'll piece together over time, together with those who step out of the flames.

All kinds of characters find their way to the fire, and each of them has a reason to be there.

Every character's memory has two sides. The bright one holds what they'd like to keep, and the dark one holds what they'd rather leave behind. The bright side is unlocked with Imbas, the dark side with Gríos. In Celtic tradition, imbas means inspiration, illumination, prophetic insight. Gríos, as we use it, stands for the shadow side of memory, the part someone would rather erase or bury in the past.

As you uncover their stories, you'll get to know Tírválen more deeply, draw new guests to the fire, and open up new ways to play.

There's also an altar by the fire, where you can place offerings. These are special artifacts that affect not only your stats, but the world itself, shaping who shows up next and what rewards you'll receive. It's a system we're planning to keep developing, so that offerings feel like a meaningful part of what's happening around the fire.

This is our very first project, and your thoughts really matter to us. What would you want from a game like this? What would make you want to stay by the fire?

Ask us anything, and we'll do our best to answer in future posts!
