Hi everyone!
I have some great news to share today. As a solo developer, I am thrilled to announce that The Book of Prosperity has been selected from a massive pool of applicants to be featured in the Best Indie Games Summer Showcase 2026!

To celebrate the showcase, the very first free public demo will officially launch on Steam on June 2, 2026. Whether you've been following the game for a while or just discovered it, you'll finally be able to jump in and experience the world for yourself.

Closed Playtest is LIVE!

Patch Notes: Playtest Update v0.1.3-demo
For those already in the closed test, the first major update is live. Here is exactly what has been added, tweaked, and fixed:
What's New
- Controls & UIAdded a comprehensive control guide in the menu and full controller support in the settings page.
Smart Input Detection: The welcome page now auto-detects your input device (shows cursor for mouse; hides it when using a keyboard or controller).
- Blackboard MinigameReduced particle intensity for better visibility, and lowered the overall difficulty specifically for controller players.
Progression Safety: The Save/Load system now fully restores skill progression data, including unlocks, equipped slots, and collected emblems.
Fixes
Fixed an issue where the street cat could disappear before reaching the alley portal.
Improved combo tutorial clarity and overall gameplay flow.
Fixed a [c]PlayerControls[/c] cleanup issue when returning to the title screen, resolving load/input instability.
Fixed an archive room reload edge case that could soft-lock the player in the bed state.
Known Issues & Working On Next
Dialogue typewriter pacing and pause timing are still being tuned.
Vionysus’s “unknown” portrait may fail to appear in rare cases.
Main menu can still close unexpectedly in certain edge-case situations.
Returning Home, exiting, and re-entering can occasionally cause a screen freeze upon loading.
Planned Improvements: Boss remaining-health hints, longer enemy detection ranges, and a highly visible saving icon during save operations.
