Update v0.4: New World, New Sky

A new update is finally here, and with it comes many changes, such as new world generation. Mountains now generate in all climates, but more frequently in polar climates. Seas have also been added.

addedA new update is finally here, and with it comes many changes, such as new world generation. Mountains now generate in all climates, but more frequently in polar climates. Seas have also been added. Grass is now 3D and affected by wind, along with new flowers. Clouds now appear in the sky, along with stars at night. The sky can be seen reflected in water now. A map has been added, which is automatically updated as you explore (can be opened by pressing 'M'). Food has also been added, although it is quite limited. Villagers can now grow oat, rice, wheat and potatoes, and eat them to restore health. Full changelog below:
addedAdded 4 crops that can be cultivated: Oat, Wheat, Rice & Potato.
addedVillagers can now eat food by dragging it from the Inventory, to the Villagers face in the Inspector.
addedAdded new block: Pantry, used for storing food. Works in the same way as a Stockpile or a Jar.
addedA Village can now be named and a custom banner can be drawn. (Menu found in upper-right corner).

  • Increased the maximum render distance drastically, allowing the player to see 960 meters into the horizon. Can be lowered if hardware is not capable of keeping up.

  • Added slider for setting UI Scale. [-] Villagers now longer regenerate health while sleeping.

Fixes:

  • Fixed snow sometimes now showing in polar climates.

  • Fixed not being able to store shovels in Jars.

  • Fixed fog showing in the Schematic Editor when it was not supposed to.

  • The game can now be paused while in Build Mode.

  • Fixed iron not generating properly.
