The Big Book of Monsters changes
Launch Day for The Big Book of Monsters!
TL;DR: The game is live! Join the conversation, share your feedback, and stay updated on future content by joining our Discord community. Let’s build this adventure together! Steam post image
Today’s the day! After months of hard work, countless playtests, and your incredible feedback during development, The Big Book of Monsters is officially live on Steam! This game has been a passion project, blending my love for world-building, adventure, and monster design into an experience I hope you’ll find as exciting to play as I did to create.
But launch day is just the beginning. Let’s talk about what’s next.
The Road Ahead
I believe a good game grows with its community, and I already have a roadmap packed with updates to enhance your adventures. Here's a sneak peek at what you can expect in the coming weeks and months.
Quality of Life Improvements
First up, I’ll be focusing on polishing the Alchemy system. A few changes are in the works to make potion brewing more intuitive and rewarding:
Quantity Display: You’ll soon be able to see exactly how many of each potion you have in your inventory at a glance.
Brew-Ready Indicators: A visual signifier will let you know if you have the ingredients needed to craft a potion. No more guessing—if you can brew it, you’ll know!
These updates will streamline the brewing process and make crafting a more strategic part of your monster-hunting journey.
More Monsters, More Adventures
Every adventure needs more challenges, and I’m excited to expand the world of The Big Book of Monsters with:
New Monsters: I’m adding a slew of creatures to test your strategies and keep combat fresh.
- Dynamic EnvironmentsEach adventure will soon feature unique backdrops, bringing the world to life in new and vibrant ways.
New Adventures: Two additional adventures are planned to help balance the difficulty curve and offer fresh opportunities for exploration.
A Big New Feature: Blacksmithing and Equipment
This is the update I’m most excited to share with you! Coming soon is a whole new system that will deepen your gameplay experience:
Blacksmithing: Collect crafting drops from your adventures and bring them to the blacksmith to forge powerful equipment.
Gear and Upgrades: Equip your hero with weapons and armor to boost their stats and customize your playstyle.
Smoothing the Difficulty Curve: This feature will give you more control over your power level, making the toughest challenges more manageable while rewarding your effort.
Blacksmithing will transform how you approach your journey, giving you even more ways to strategize and take down the toughest monsters.
Thank You
Whether you’ve been following the game’s development from the beginning or you’re just diving in now, I want to say a huge thank you for your support. Games like this wouldn’t be possible without a passionate community, and I’m so excited to grow this world with you.
So gear up, gather your potions, and dive into The Big Book of Monsters! And don’t forget to share your feedback—I’m always listening and can’t wait to hear your thoughts on where we should take this adventure next.
Happy monster hunting!
