First of all, I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your continued support. Your feedback, suggestions, bug reports, and kind words mean a lot to me and genuinely help shape the game. While I occasionally miss a message or reply, please understand that I’m a solo developer handling everything myself. Sometimes things slip through the cracks, but I want you to know that I truly appreciate all the support and engagement from this amazing community!

I'm currently working hard on announcing my next game while continuing to support and update my existing titles when possible. With that said, I'm excited to share the latest update for The Backrooms 1998, which includes several improvements and new features!

Update v1.04 Includes:

  • Fixed multiple bugs and improved overall stability.

  • Improved controller support across both menus and gameplay.

  • Fixed various typos and localization/language issues.

  • Enhanced enemy navigation and AI movement behavior.

  • Updated environmental textures for improved visual quality.

  • Added new settings options to the menu.

  • Added new sound effects and audio improvements.

  • Added a Black & White Camera Mode for a more atmospheric experience. It can be found in the settings, which you can then active to switch to B&W mode on your camera.
