Attack of the Virtual Hugs Round 10!!

Haven't done one of these in a hot minute. Not because I want to stop making these, but I just keep not getting around to it. But, hey. That doesn't mean you still don't deserve hugs.

changedTrying to keep afloat, doing some stuff on the side, not really much I can do about the sequel when rent keeps creeping up on me. Who knows what life has in store?
addedFirst up is this lovely little animation-ish channel who also does DnD Memes! :D Sometimes they have the exact same skits as the OneShotQuesters , but other times they have completely new stuff too!
changedThe Asian Drama this time around is called "Kill You Love You" and...the title is very uncreative, but it's still a pretty sweet show. Above is the mondo, compiled cut of all of the episodes, but if you want to watch the episodes in more manageable, bite sized chunks, the playlist for that is here.

But, hey. That doesn't mean you still don't deserve hugs. So, here is a pretty big hug for you! Hope you've had a wonderful summer and have an even more wonderful rest of your year. :3

So, the other day, on the way back from a mission's trip, I saw in a gas station a card-redemption thingy for Pokemon Crystal (2000s version). Didn't end up getting it, because prices, but when I got back home, I found that I already had Pokemon Gold (also old school version) on my 3DS anyway! So I've been playing that quite a bit. ːsteamdanceː It's been fun!

Steam also seems to be introducing this system where I can link all my games together in one easy place, if I create a Community Group? I dunno. It might be worth looking into, so that you guys can easily find all of zee games in one place...

But enough about me! Let's get to the real juicy stuff!

First up is this lovely little animation-ish channel who also does DnD Memes! :D Sometimes they have the exact same skits as the OneShotQuesters, but other times they have completely new stuff too!

Pssttt! Don't forget to watch this one! ;) You deserve it!

Here's another video from Hamster Lady. She's still going at it, even after having a baby, but the upload schedule has obviously slowed down.

So here's a guy I started watching because of Steven He... He does comedy skits on his main channel, but I am totally here for the reactions to reddit posts. He just seems like a super chill dude, and one of the more fun "reddit react" Youtubers I've seen. :P

And, well, here's a little pick me up song I'm listening to right now. It's another religious one, but just in case you can relate, I thought I'd share. :)

Oh, and I'm not sure I've shared this guy before, but here is the legendary game's master himself, Masahiro Sakurai! He's been uploading for a couple years now, and it kind of already made a splash in the game's world before now, but for those of you who don't know... Basically, he created a Youtube channel to help Indie Game Developers around the world make better games. And while not all of you are into game development yourselves, I figured I might as well share this with you because of Sakurai's sunny disposition, and upbeat attitude! He's just so much fun to watch, even on topics I don't really know anything about. So give his videos a watch, if you think you'd be interested! :3

And since I didn't get around to doing a write up last time, here's an Asian Drama to make up for it! ːsteamsunnyː

~~Asian Drama~~

~~Because You Totally Know You Care~~

The Asian Drama this time around is called "Kill You Love You" and...the title is very uncreative, but it's still a pretty sweet show. Above is the mondo, compiled cut of all of the episodes, but if you want to watch the episodes in more manageable, bite sized chunks, the playlist for that is here.

The story, from what I can remember, is this... There is a Prince who is investigating the suspicious death of his late father, and is building an undercover army so he can rightfully take the throne back from the corrupt empress. But in order to throw suspicion off of him, he pretends to be a notorious womanizer so that he can build and strategize in peace, while everyone thinks he's off with some lady. Meanwhile, the leading lady is an assassin, who is charged with protecting him...but she doesn't get the memo, so she ends up trying to kill him instead. (Whoops.)

I'm not exactly sure what the "correct" terminology for this show format is, but this seems to be a mini-series? All the episodes are really short, so even though there's a lot of them, you can get through them fairly quickly, and at your own pace. (Similar to No Doubt in Us.) What I like about this format of T.V. Show is that I never feel like my time is being wasted. With the full-blown, 45 minute episodes of regular Chinese Dramas, the plot just drags its feet in getting anywhere, so nothing truly happens until Episode 15. Which sucks and is annoying. However, with these kinds of shows, where the episodes are around 10 minutes each, the writing has to make the most of its short runtime, so even if they don't get to the point immediately, they still get there a lot faster than they do in the regular shows...! (This doesn't always translate into good writing, but sometimes you'll be pleasantly surprised...!)

This show in particular I like for a few reasons. First of all, the main character seems like another generic stoic guy, but deep down he's a big sweetie. Second, since this story is from his perspective (and I suspect written by a man as well, but can't confirm) he comes across as a lot more sympathetic. He isn't this plank of wood, staring off blankly with nothing going on; he's a guy who's pretending to be someone he's not so that he can honour the legacy of his late father. He's purposefully guarded, not bland, and that may be subtle, but it makes a difference.

The assassin lady...is charming enough, from what I can remember. (It's been a while since I watched this show.) Her demeanor is believable for an assassin, and while she does seem to be clumsier than she should be at times (and a bit too petite to be believably athletic), she's not annoying or disrespectful towards the male lead.

Though, one thing I didn't particular like was

how she reacted when she found out that the male lead was secretly engaged the whole time. Granted, that kind of news would rile any woman up, but he made it clear that it was an arranged marriage, he never met the other woman, and he had no feelings for her. I don't think it was fair for the script to blame the main guy, and then "comedically" punish him for something he had absolutely no control over. Main bro didn't deserve that.

So, yeah! That's my recommendations for this time around, and I hope you have a great Autumn coming up! :D :D :D Buh-bye!
