UI Improvements & Gamepad Support – Demo Coming in May!

We’re making steady progress toward the upcoming demo release in May. Today, we’d like to share a quick preview of the new UI improvements and early gamepad support.

addedWe’re making steady progress toward the upcoming demo release in May. Today, we’d like to share a quick preview of the new UI improvements and early gamepad support. View store page This preview shows the first step toward full gamepad support. A cursor has been added to the object list panel (top-left), allowing navigation with the D-pad or arrow keys, and object selection with the A button or Enter. Depending on the object, actions such as examine, pick up, or attack will be triggered.
changedBasic XInput support is now working, and controller input is recognized correctly. Next, we plan to expand controller support to cover:
changedPlayer movement
changedAdditional UI interactions
addedThese improvements will also contribute to better playability on Steam Deck , so we’re keeping Deck support in mind as we continue refining the controls. Thank you for following the development of Text Dungeon. We’ll continue polishing the experience as we move toward the demo release.
