Tears of Viceroy changes
I’ve been mostly silent these past two months (with the exception of our Discord server), busy updating the game based on both player feedback and my own impressions from playing alongside you.
Here are the most notable features added since the Alpha Test (the first public release).
Deals
Allows players to exchange Supplies, Fighters, Carriers, and even Star Systems. Fighters and Carriers are withdrawn from and delivered to the capital Star System.
Carrier sub-orders
Let Carriers delay before warping and manage industry orders upon arrival at newly captured Star Systems. Together with the existing Fighters Control sub-order, this helps automate tasks when you can’t or don’t want to open the game frequently, yet tick-precise actions are required.
New cluster (map) type: Classic
A new map type with denser player placement that shortens the initial peaceful expansion phase.
Open System
Allows a Star System’s owner to let non-enemy players warp to the system. Typical uses include transit through neutral/allied space and joint defense operations.
(Yellow has a Defense Pact with Orange and has set some of his systems to Open to allow Orange’s transit toward Violet. Orange’s fleet is now warping toward Etheic to protect the system while defenses are being built. Note that this is Orange’s view: despite traversing Yellow space, Orange doesn’t have scan data for Yellow because carriers cannot scan. To share scan data, form an Alliance instead of a Defense Pact.)
