Tears of Metal changes
Patch Notes — Version 0.8.57278
NOTE: Crossplay compatiblity is temporarily disabled. Use the "Crossplay" Beta branch to stay on the old patch.
Balancing
Ruadh is now unlocked after defeating the Banshee.
Wallace’s Flamberge sword now cost 3 Dragonstones instead of 9.
Wallace’s Celtic Longsword can now be purchased for 500 triskelle.
More Statue Region rewards, and increased quantity.
Bosses’ Block Breaking attacks can now be parried.
The “Distant Cloaks” event now reduces the Threat Level by 2, compensating for the Threat gained by advancing on the map.
The “A Distraction” event now costs coins instead of Dragonstones.
Major bugs fixed
Fixed the Act 3 Giant sometimes remaining invincible.
Banshee Boss could sometimes remain invisible. Temporary fix: you shouldn’t be stuck if it happens.
Fixed gates sometimes remaining closed and blocking progression during Brienne’s unlock quest.
Fixed the Treasure and Dice event charging players even when they won the bet.
Fixed several issues affecting The Dreadshot:
Teleporting is no longer interrupted when his target moves behind an obstruction.
Ranged attacks are no longer interrupted by melee attacks when players move too close.
Fixed the chatbox sometimes remaining visible indefinitely when loading a level while a message was on screen.
Improved the reliability of healing in situations where it could occasionally fail.
Gameplay
Enemies are no longer invulnerable while evading.
Gilles the Hog will no longer ignore players who have been attacking him for an extended period.
Improved Bomber targeting. Bombers now remain at their starting position until approached and are less likely to all target the same player.
Certain wave attacks now collide with obstacles, preventing players from being attacked through walls.
“Kill Streak” has been renamed to “Chain Streak” to better represent the mechanic.
Fixed one of Wallace’s attacks failing to hit enemies at its maximum range.
Fixed the Archers’ Volley Ally Command, sometimes stopping its damage prematurely.
Added a new Common Charm: Cutthroat’s Blade, which grants +10% critical hit chance on Finishers.
Multiplayer
Fixed other players’ actions resetting the Combo Visualizer.
Fixed Wallace’s secret weapon chest not granting its reward to clients.
Fixed The Dreadshot’s projectiles colliding with the hitboxes of defeated players.
Achievements/Unlocks bug fix
Fixed the Charm requiring players to maintain a Combo Chain for 20 seconds being impossible to unlock.
Fixed the Tithing Box being impossible to unlock.
Fixed the “Finish Act X without opening a chest” Achievements tracking actions other than opening chests.
Fixed the Achievement requiring players to start and finish an Act Boss battle with 10% health or less.
Fixed “Special Challenge: Infestation” being completed by doing nothing for 20 seconds.
The campaign shop will no longer offer Wallace’s secret weapon piece after the weapon has already been unlocked.
The Large Reliquary can no longer grant another copy of itself.
Interface and Settings
Added optional anonymous gameplay data collection. Players must opt in before any gameplay data is collected.
Fixed the Army Visualizer appearing inside Merchant shops and overlapping item information.
Hovering over Companions in the Army selection screen no longer changes unrelated stats.
Improved Ally Command damage projections in the Army selection screen.
Fixed the Threat bar tooltip sometimes failing to appear when using a controller.
Fixed the maximum framerate setting not being applied after restarting the game.
Fixed Drift Correction not working correctly.
Fixed players being able to leave the Edit Controls menu while customizing an action and continue editing controls outside the menu.
Fixed end-of-battle dialogue being partially covered by the Defeat screen.
Corrected the description of Wallace’s Committed Charge. It now correctly states that it grants 35% damage resistance instead of -35%.
Fixed certain Charms displaying incorrect descriptions in the Castle Records.
The default maximum framerate has been reduced from 120 to 60. This can still be changed in the options.
Visuals and Environments
Updated collisions in Boiling Mire and the Birchtrees level.
Improved numerous level layouts, collisions, structure markers, and environmental object placements.
Fixed several floating objects and structures, including a marker in Kurgan Fortress.
Updated environmental art in Kurgan Castle.
Fixed some environmental art appearing at an incorrect height.
Updated Luthan’s model with additional detail.
Localization
Updated the Traditional Chinese term for “Strike” to more clearly represent a light attack.
Improved several Upgrade descriptions to make their effects clearer.
Corrected several typos.
