Tailside: Cozy Cafe Sim changes
☕ More fixes for quite a few larger issues to improve gameplay balance, soft locking, and some controller hiccups.
Twitch integration also received a few updates. That said, we’ll need a bit more testing from streamers to see how it’s behaving now. Rebinding issues are currently a work in progress but expected to do an update on this during upcoming week.
With fewer critical issues left to tackle, we’ll be heading into February by starting work on new features from the roadmap, along with some smaller, fun suggestions and highly requested game improvement features from players. Alongside that, we’ll continue addressing reported bugs.

Happy weekend! I’ll be taking a short break and will be back to work on Monday.
If your reported issue or suggestion isn’t listed below, don’t worry, it’s already in our to do list, and we’re working through everything as quickly as possible.
Fixes:
Fixed an issue where chairs could not be moved in the bedroom
Fixed being able to move around the player with items while in Build Mode
Fixed lamp post lights appearing on the wrong side when flipped
Cleaning cups will no longer interact with other objects
Gamepad icons now appear immediately when a controller or Steam Deck connection is detected
You can now place and pick up items using the keyboard interact button (not just the mouse) for better comfort
Various sound adjustments
Fixed the purchase button playing a purchased sound even when orders were full and could not be placed
NPCs should now pathfind more reliably and get stuck less often on corners
Fixed shop panel navigation issues for keyboard and controller input
Added a Delete Data button to the Twitch section to allow restarting the connection if issues occur (additional Twitch related fixes were included, but further livestream testing may be needed)
Fixed hot chocolate not granting XP
Increased the maximum time NPCs have to reach destinations to prevent early despawning
Fixed several decor items missing from shop filters
Fixed some plants duplicating or transforming into other plants when returned to inventory
Joystick navigation is now less sensitive sideways, reducing accidental selection of side buttons
Fixed an issue where saving on the terrace while the cafe was open caused it to load as closed while time continued running
Fixed duplication of shop orders
Save file syncing between devices (settings have been adjusted, further testing required)
Balancing
Latte art auto complete now requires 5 unlocked skills (previously none)
Increased coffee and milk ingredient costs to make upgrades more valuable and improve progression pacing
Increased prices for milk and grinder storage upgrades
Slightly increased the penalty for going outside latte art guidelines when going outside the lines is enabled through settings
Optimized leveling for a more linear progression, especially between Level 20–30, reducing steep XP jumps
Known Issues in Progress (High Priority)
The following issues are still being worked on and may require additional testing:
Steam achievements not always registering correctly (currently testing various solutions)
Rebinding issues for both keyboard and controller (expected to be fixed next week)
Time getting stopped and stuck during open cafe hours
Meanwhile, If you already tried Tailside out, don’t forget to leave a review and feedback in Steam discussions section for further game improvements and new feature additions!
