changedWhat to expect? The game has a single player campaign which might last up to 6 hours if you want to complete everything. It honestly depends on how long it takes you to master the game. First run might take you up to 4 hours to complete the whole campaign and whenever you master the game, it might get down to 2 hours (that is my score!). Cannot talk about speedruning (you never know how much my game can be broken by them!). The campaign has several missions that are meant to be replayed to complete all objectives and get all the rewards and Steam achievements. The more you progress, the more skills/upgrades you unlock for your groups and the more units you have available. Hence, difficult objectives at the beginning, become more tangible by the end.
changedWhat to expect? If you are more of a multiplayer gamer. There is a multiplayer skirmish modality where you can configure different unit groups per each faction (both Aarbar and Corx are available) and play against computer-controlled players or online against other players. There are a total of 5 different maps to play. Three of them for two players and two of them for a maximum of three players. You can adjust the starting points to deploy groups from 40 up to 300 points, which translates to roughly 9 to 10 groups (90-100 units) per player. Here it is my first note. If you master the game, playing one-on-one against computer-controlled player might be quite easy for you. I recommed the three players map to play against the computer because it makes the match much more dynamic and challenging. But the real fun comes to play against other human players. I want to be honest here. The game might not have enough online players to find a lobby where to play whenever you want. I recommend using our Discord server to find players and then create a lobby. We will keep running the servers, for now in Europe and US. Besides, the multiplayer has a combat simulator where you can test your unit groups before starting a match. In general, a match against computer-controlled players might last up to 20 minutes . Playing against other human players can extend the time depending on the strategy you both follow.
changedWhat to expect?I hope this gives you a realistic overview of gameplay hours and replayability.
changedAfter launchDepending on the success of the release and how much engaged is the community with the game, we will continue updating the content of the game. There is a lot of room for new units/abilities. For new campaigns and new multiplayer modalities. What do you miss in the game? What do you like the most? With your feedback, we will be able to trace a post-launch roadmap and set a reallistic timeline.
changed6th of MarchExciting date! I will be live-streaming some campaign missions and playing skirmishes against computer and/or other human players. Just have a look for a better overview of what to expect. Maybe you get some interesting gameplay strategies from me. I am actually not a good gamer, but I know a lot about the game :). I will be constantly checking Discord and the Steam webpage in case any bug report arises to fix it as soon as possible. I will be reachable most of the time after launch. Feel free to contact me for anything you need. Even if it is to just say that you like the game. I really appreciate.

Have you already played the demo? Give it a try! The demo will remain available even after launch.

First of all, THANK YOU ALL!

The project started far away from being a commercial game and half-way turned towards a fully commercial project that has gotten more attention that I have anticipated. Thank you all for your support. For playing the game. For the feedback and suggestions. For everything.

Developing a game is a long and exhausting task. However, any support during the process turns on that light spot sitting next to your table and encourage you to continue working hard to deliver something engaging, something fun. Something that you all will enjoy. I am happy with what I have achieved with Tabletop Fantasy War. I just hope you enjoy playing it.

What to expect?

Do you want to buy the game? Then, keep reading. I'll try to give an accurate overview of what to expect. First, you can try out the demo. Get a taste of the game and check whether it is a game for you or not.
